Biochar and PGPR applications mitigated the negative influence of salinity stress on plant growth and physiological and biochemical characteristics of eggplant seedlings, enhancing chlorophyll content, plant nutrient element uptake, and antioxidant enzyme activity. The enhanced salinity tolerance due to biochar and PGPR applications could be associated with a significant reduction in Na and Cl uptake, MDA, H2 O2 and EL and an increase in LRWC, chlorophyll content, antioxidant activity and plant nutrient element uptake.

The objective of this work was to identify and characterize biochemical, morphological and enzymatic activity, as well as the influence of abiotic factors in a Pantoea isolated from industrial laundry effluent in Pernambuco. The results showed that the bacterium presents characteristics similar to those presented by the species of Pantoea agglomerans; however, the biochemical and morphological tests were not enough to accurately identify the species.

The aim of this study is to determine the antimicrobial resistance profile patterns to 15 antibiotics and heavy metals (Zn+2, Cu+2 and Cd+2) by Pantoeaagglomerans bacteria. The (MIC) of the heavy metals was varied from 200 µg /mL to 2200 µg/mL. The results showed that the bacteria were resistant to Zn+2, Cu+2 and Cd+2, considering the MIC values compared with the strain Escherichia coli K-12 used as control. P.

Arthropod-borne diseases remain a leading cause of human morbidity and mortality and exact an enormous toll on global agriculture. The practice of insecticide-based control is fraught with issues of excessive cost, human and environmental toxicity, unwanted impact on beneficial insects and selection of resistant insects.
