  • The present experiment was carried to study the relationship of animal parity with milk yield, fat and solids-not-fat percent in murrah graded buffaloes under field conditions. In this,150 murrah graded buffaloes of different parities (1st to 6th parities) from different commercial farms of Guntur and Krishna districts were selected. Various parameters like parity related to average milk yield, fat percent, SNF percent was taken into consideration for the present study.

  • he present investigation was conducted to study the effect of various non genetic factors like farm, parity, period of calving and season of calving on different production traits like total lactation milk yield (TLMY), 305 day milk yield (305MY), peak yield (PY), milk yield per day of lactation length (MY/LL) and milk yield per day of calving interval (MY/CI) in Murrah buffaloes. The data analysed include records of 2959 buffaloes, progeny of 219 sires maintained over a period of 24 years (1992-2015) at Buffalo research centre (BRC), LUVAS, Hisar and Animal farm ICAR-CIRB, Hisar.

  • An experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of vitamin E and Chromium propionate during transition period in Sahiwal cows to assess the possibilities of improvement in production performance of supplementation of vitamin E and Chromium propionate. A total of 28 cows were selected on the basis of their milk yield, parity and body weight are grouped into four homogenous treatment groups of 7 each. No significant effect of supplementation was seen on milk composition.

  • A total of 18 Murrah buffaloes of 1st to 3 rd parity were selected to study the effect of Body Condition Score (BCS) in milk production, milk composition and reproductive performance of lactating Murrah buffaloes. The Murrah buffaloes were distributed into three different groups with six animals in each group based on their pre-calving BCS (15 days before expected date of calving) namely G1 (2.50 - 3.00), G2 (3.25 - 3.75) and G3 (4.00 and above).

  • The present study was conducted at Livestock farm, Adhartal, College of Veterinary Science & A.H., N.D.V.S.U., Jabalpur (M.P.). A total of 12 advance pregnant Murrah buffaloes of identical parity and similar previous lactation yield were selected 21 days prepartum and randomly assigned to two groups of six animals each; CON as control with basal diet and MO as mustard oil supplementation @ 200 ml/animal/day upto 90 days post-partum to study the effect on economics of milk production in lactating Murrah buffaloes.

  • The study was conducted to examine the effect of composite feed additive on fluctuations in weekly milk production and milk composition in lactating buffaloes. The experiment was carried out in buffalo farm ICAR-CIRB Hisar. Murrah lactating buffaloes (n=18) (Bubalus bubalis) (avg. milk yield 10.83± 1.56 kg) and (avg. live weight, 507.24 ± 44.18 kg; parity, 2-5) at early stage (30 days) of lactation were selected and divided into two groups of 8 animals each using a completely randomized block design.

  • The present study was undertaken to evaluate the effect of microclimate alteration devices and feed additives on productive performance and feed intake of lactating Murrah buffaloes during summer for a period of 90 days. Twenty four early lactating Murrah buffaloes of similar body weight, parity and milk yield were selected and distributed randomly into 4 equal groups by using randomized block design (RBD). The first group T1 was provided with foggers operated daily during hot hours from 12.00 Noon to 15.

  • The aim of present study was to find out the effect of „challenge feeding‟ on performance and economics of milk yield of crossbred cows. Eighteen advance pregnant crossbred cows were selected 60 days before expected date of calving and were divided into 3 groups i.e. control (T1), treatment (T2) and (T3) on the basis of milk yield, parity and body weight for this study. During the pre-partum period, animals of T1 control group were fed 1 kg concentrate for maintenance per day from 60th day to prior to calving till the day of parturition.
