Patch testing

This research work utilizes image processing techniques and sand patch tests to measure pavement macrotexture. Image processing techniques including median filter, Sobel edge detector, and circle fitting are used. The newly developed method is able to compute the pavement macrotexture depth index based on image of sand patch test. This image processing-based method is developed in Visual C#.NET framework 4.7.2. The newly developed program has been tested with real-world image samples.

We tested the hypothesis that plant populations in natural fragments have distinct ecological behavior in relation to anthropic fragments. We selected the species Myrcia splendens (SW.) DC. in 2 forest fragments located in southeastern Brazil that present different origins and landscape contexts. The natural fragment originates from landscape relief variations and is inserted in a native grassland matrix, while the anthropic fragment originates from fragmentation due to area conversion and is inserted in an agricultural matrix.

An intact German shepherd bitch having age of 3 years and also pseudo pregnant was presented with the chief complaint of anorexic, dull, depressed, hot hyperaemic red patches around the area adjoining the teats, edematous quarters, along with cool and necrosed teats. A diagnosis of gangrenous mastitis was made. Culture sensitivity test showed presence of Staphylococcus aureus as a causative agent. The patient was successfully treated with antibiotics and topical therapy till clinical recovery.

In the present study 86 number of skin scrapings were collected from various breeds like Labrador retriever (n=32), German shepherd (n=21), Spitz (n=9), Dacshund (n=16), Mastiff (n=5), Boxer (n=3) and age groups from 6 months to, above 3 year with characteristics ring like lesions, alopecia, irregular patches of hair loss. All the dogs were presented to teaching veterinary clinical complex, Odisha veterinary college from December 2018 to June 2019.On routine identification of fungus out of 86 number of skin scrappings it was revealed that arthospores were present in 54 number of samples.

The aim of this study was to determine if transdermal penetration of fenoterol, a b-agonist drug, could be enhanced and controlled by formulation modification and formulation of transdermal patches. Pre-formulation studies were performed to determine the feasibility of a transdermal dosage form of fenoterol. Penetration of fenoterol was determined using the hairless guinea pig skin with unjacketed Franz diffusion cell. Transdermal patches were formulated using drug in-adhesive technique. Several enhancers were investigated for fenoterol skin penetration.

There is lack of information regarding; the toxicological and pathological consequences of phenol stressed Clarias gariepinus; as well as; the susceptibility of the stressed fish to disease occurrence. Static renewal bioassay was experimentally conducted to evaluate the toxic effects of phenol on the African catfish C. gariepinus. Ninety-six-hour acute toxicity tests revealed that the median lethal concentration of phenol (LC50) is 35 mg/L by immersion.

Deterioration mechanism due to drying and shrinkage of patch-repaired regions in reinforced concrete structures is analytically investigated. The moisture diffusion coefficient of the repair materials was determined by varying the drying temperature and the polymer-tocement ratios of the polymer-modified cement mortar (PCM) in the experiment. It is found that the diffusivity of PCM increases in proportion to the polymer-to-cement ratio up to 10%.

These reactions are characterized by one or more sharply demarcated, erythematous lesions, sometimes leading to a blister. Hyperpigmentation results after resolution of the acute inflammation. With rechallenge, the lesion recurs in the same (i.e., fixed) location. Lesions often involve the lips, hands, legs, face, genitalia, and oral mucosa and cause a burning sensation. Most patients have multiple lesions. Fixed drug eruptions have been associated with phenolphthalein, sulfonamides, cyclines, dipyrone, NSAIDs, and barbiturates.
