Heterotaxy (Htx) syndrome comprises a class of congenital disorders resulting from malformations in left-right body patterning. Approximately 90% of patients with heterotaxy have serious congenital heart diseases; as a result, the survival rate and outcomes of Htx patients are not satisfactory.

To investigate right ventricular function in hemodialysis patients with preserved left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) using twodimensional speckle tracking echocardiography. Methods: Patients with end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) who were on regular hemodialysis and had preserved LVEF and a group of age- and sex-matched control subjects were recruited for the study in Bach Mai Hospital.

Subcapsular hepatic hematoma is a rare and life-threatening complication of pregnancy. It is most commonly associated with severe preeclampsia and hemolytic anemia, elevated liver enzymes, and low platelets syndrome. Patients with subcapsular hepatic hematoma typically present with epigastric, right upper quadrant or shoulder pain, nausea and vomiting, and/or shortness of breath.

Mirror dextrocardia (MDC) is a condition in which the heart is located in a mirror-image position on the right side of the chest compared to the normal position in individuals with physiological variations. Patients with MDC and chronic total occlusion (CTO) of the left circumflex branch (LCX) are extremely rare in clinical practice.

In this case report, we demonstrate our technique of a retroperitoneal laparoscopic heminephrectomy for a T1b right hilar tumor in a horseshoe kidney. Retroperitoneal laparoscopic heminephrectomy is a safe and feasible technique for patients with renal cell carcinoma in a horseshoe kidney and may be particularly useful in low income settings without access to robotic technology.

Bleeding in the postoperative period after cardiac surgery is relatively frequent, especially in patients with early anticoagulant therapy, as in the case of mechanical valve replacement. Defuse hemopericardium is relatively easy to diagnose; however, loculated pericardial hematomas leading to hemodynamic collapse are relatively rare and their diagnosis is more challenging.

Surgical resection followed by indicated adjuvant therapy offers potential curative treatment in colonic adenocarcinoma. Beyond the well-established seed and soil theory of colon cancer progression, the ’normal-appearing’ tissues near the tumor are not genuinely normal and remain as remnants in patients following surgery.

To present a rare case with thrombus resolved with dual antiplatelet in combination with acenocoumarol. Case presentation: A 35-year-old man with a history of cerebral venous thrombosis was admitted to our hospital for an acute myocardial inferior infarction. He underwent primary percutaneous intervention of the right coronary artery with proximal to distal stent placement.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a heterogeneous disease, with subtypes that have different clinical behaviours and subsequent prognoses. There is a growing body of evidence suggesting that right-sided colorectal cancer (RCC) and left-sided colorectal cancer (LCC) also differ in treatment success and patient outcomes. Biomarkers that differentiate between RCC and LCC are not well-established.

An early diastolic flow from the left ventricular apex to the base can be shown in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). This tiny flow or a diastolic paradoxic jet flow is important to detect on echocardiography because of its association with cardiovascular adverse events.

Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) can be used as a bridge to medical therapy in decompensated right heart failure due to pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). A middle-aged man with previously undiagnosed pulmonary hypertension was successfully bridged to intravenous prostanoid therapy with venoarterial ECMO support after presenting with cardiogenic shock and hypoxemic respiratory failure.

Anomalous coronary artery origins are not common in routine clinical practice. The incidence of coronary anomalies in patients undergoing coronary angiography is less than 1%. The greatest challenges faced in the management are delays in identification and difficulty engaging the anomalous coronary artery. Operator experience in promptly identifying the anomaly and selection of the appropriate catheter is critical for successful intervention.

Carcinoid heart disease is an unusual cause of right heart failure. We present the case of a 53-year-old man with a history of metastatic carcinoid tumors originating from the appendix, status postchemotherapy, and liver embolizations. The patient presented with a right-sided valvular disease with severe pulmonic valve regurgitation, right ventricle dilation and pulmonary hypertension. He had carcinoid syndrome well controlled with long-acting lanreotide.

Granulocytic sarcoma is a rare solid malignant tumor that occurs in patients with acute myeloid leukemia. As such, granulocytic sarcoma without leukemia occurring in long bones is quite rare.
