Crop Productivity of pigeonpea is being low in the north-eastern dry zone of Karnataka and this is due to several reasons. One of the main important reason is flower drop and poor seed setting.   • A field study from 2009 to 2013 was carried out to investigate the effect of organic manure including panchagavya and biodynamic spray on commonly used tomato-coriander-pea and cauliflower-cauliflower-peacropping system in Western Himalaya. The results revealed that cropping systems differ significantly in terms of soil microbial properties. The tomato-coriander-pea crop sequence recorded higher soil carbon biomass and population of soil bacteria, fungi and actinomycetes as compared to cauliflowercauliflower-pea crop sequence.

  • This study was undertaken in Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Balagaht (M.P.) during the period from 2014-15 to 2017-18 conducted a total 48 frontline demonstration of Chickpea crop. Cultivation practices comprised under FLD viz. use of improve variety (JG -14, JG-130), seed treatment, seed inoculation, spacing 30 cm, soil test based nutrient management, irrigation water management and integrated pest management show that percentage increase in the yield of Chick pea ranged from 22.73 % to 46.11 % over farmer’s practice.

  • Field experiments were laid out in split-plot design with three modes of production (organic, integrated and inorganic) in main plots and four rice-based cropping systems [basmati rice-vegetable pea + coriander (CS1), basmati rice-chickpea + coriander (CS2), basmati rice-potato (CS3) and basmati rice-wheat (CS4)] in sub-plots with three replications in 2016 and 2017. Results revealed that organic mode of production resulted in higher growth and yield of basmati rice than inorganic mode of production during 13th and 14th year of the experimentation.

  • During the past few years farmers participatory research trials have rapidly gained popularity with due consideration being given to the knowledge, problems and priorities of the farming families. Peas, potato and turnip are important vegetables cultivated by growers of district Kupwara. A series of on - farm trials were laid on pea, potato, turnip and walnut to assess the impact of technologies and test their performance in district Kupwara. The application of rhizobium @3kg/ha. recorded yield of 10.50q/ha followed by rhizobium @2.0kg/ha which recorded an average yield to the tune of 10.

  • An experiment was conducted to assess the effect of different intercrops like maize, pea, strawberry, cabbage, red clover, French bean, oats and maize on apple production cv Red Delicious under Kashmir conditions.
