The results obtained during the flowering stage of crop development, confirmed the positive effect of the contribution of tri-calcium phosphate (TCP) with Bradyrhizobium strains on the morphological characters (shoot biomass, root biomass, nodular biomass and leaf) and the physiological.

Rust caused by Puccinia arachidis Speg. is the most important disease on Groundnut worldwide. Limited information about nature of inheritance of rust resistance is available to peanut breeders. The investigation was undertaken to determine the mode of genetic inheritance of rust resistance in two F2 populations of groundnut. The crosses were generated by crossing resistant genotypes viz., GPBD5 and ICGV86699 with susceptible genotype TG76.

Out of 419 peanut interspecific derivatives, screened over four seasons in epiphytotic field (Hot spot location) and glasshouse conditions, seven genotypes viz., CS-43, CS-54, CS-55, CS-73, CS-77, CS-82 and CS-104 were confirmed as potential resistant with least disease incidence, high dry pod yield, desirable yield and pod features besides longer DFSA, DLSA and t50.

This experiment was conducted in the spring cropping season of 2015 to evaluate growth, yield, and seed quality of peanut genotypes under drought and poor nitrogen field conditions at the Faculty of Agronomy, Vietnam National University of Agriculture. Seven high yielding peanut lines/cultivars and the Dau Giay cultivar (control) were laid out in a randomize complete block design with three replications.

Developing successful strategies to ensure future increase in yield of soybean and peanut crops hinges in part, on improving the genetic basis of the cultivars. Knowledge of genetic relationships in crop breeding programs provides valuable information that can be used by plant breeders as a parental line selection tool.

The objective of this study was to investigate the responses of peanut genotypes to midseason drought, regarding in particular nutrient uptakes and their correlations with biomass production and pod yield. The experiment was conducted during the dry seasons of 2011/12 and 2012/13.

Peanut production areas frequently suffer from drought, which can cause severe yield losses, increased aflatoxin, and compositional changes in seed. Midseason drought is generally the most detrimental to seed yields and in altering seed protein composition.

Different peanut yields under terminal drought might be due to the different nutrient uptakes among peanut genotypes. Nutrient uptake was presumed to be a drought-resistant trait and might involve drought tolerance mechanisms. The aims of this study, therefore, were to characterize the effect of terminal drought on peanut nutrient uptake and to investigate the genotypic variability of nutrient uptake and its interactions with terminal drought.
