Pectinases find wide application in different industrial applications, e.g., textile, food, tea, paper and pulp, vegetable oil extractions, saccharification of agricultural remains, and in fermented drinks. Three fungal strains were screened for pectinase production. Results indicated that all strains are capable of producing a pectinase enzyme.

Three pectinolytic microbial consortia developed for faster retting of jute (Chorchorus olitorius L. and Chorchorus capsularis L.) were subjected to various pH (4 to 12) and media with variable nitrogen and fixed carbon sources for optimization of fermentation conditions of the consortia for cost-effective pectin degrading enzyme production. All the microbial consortia were active over a wide range of pH from 6 to 10 and recorded maximum polygalacturonase and pectin lyase activities at pH 10.

Microbial enzymes have significant biotechnological application in industries. The purpose of this study was to isolate and identify microorganisms associated with ripe plantain fruits, determine the enzyme activity (lipase, protease, pectinase, cellulase and amylase) of the ripe plantain fruits samples and screen the isolated microorganisms for enzyme production.

A phenotypic characterization of thirteen root nodule bacteria recovered from wild legumes (Genista microcephala and Argyrolobium uniflorum) growing in arid eco-climate zones (Northeastern Algeria) was conducted using analysis of sixty-six phenotypic traits (carbohydrate and nitrogen assimilation, vitamin requirements, growth temperature, salinity/pH tolerance and enzyme production). Furthermore, SDS-PAGE profiles of total cell protein, antibiotic susceptibility and heavy metal resistance were performed.

Cassava is an important industrial crop in Vietnam for the production of cassava starch as the key raw material in biotechnology and related industries. However, the cassava starch industry discharges a large amount of wet bagasse. The bagasse, which contains 50-60 % starch and 25-30 % cellulose, is currently used with low value and causes severe environmental concerns.

Orange peel is an agroindustrial waste rich in pectin and known to be an inducer for pectinase production. The use of this low-cost substrate for the production of an industrially important enzyme, polygalacturonase (PG), can be an alternative way to turn this waste into a value-added product, contributing to the reduction of environmental waste disposal problems.

This research focus on the simultaneous application of two kinds of pectinase: PectinexUltra SP-L and PectinaseUltra Clear, during the extracted processing of “táo mèo”. The results indicated that simultaneously using both enzymes has increased the extractivity of the process to 25 %, and also has increased the amounts of function substances such as vitamin C, polyphenol, sugar, acid, and soluble pectin, compared to not using enzymes.

In recent years there has been a renewed interest in solid-state fermentation (SSF) processes for the production of bioactive compounds. While efforts continue largely to exploit filamentous fungi and yeasts for the production of various enzymes, attempts have also been made to explore possibilities of using bacterial strains in SSF systems (Pandey et al., 2000). Enzyme production by SSF using bacterial spp.

The present study was aimed at improving the extraction efficiency and quality of natural pineapple (Annanas comosus) juice. Pectinase Preparations, viz. Pectinex Ultra SP-L and Pectinex 3XL were applied for cayenne pineapples produced in §ong Giao corporation. The optimal conditions for Pectinex Ultra SP-L and Pectinex 3XL were selected. Pectinex Ultra SP-L increased the extraction rate by 19,9%. Pectinex 3XL increased T index of the natural pineapple juice. The scheme for its production was proposed....
