A field study was conducted during Kharif 2014 and Kharif 2015 to evaluate the bioefficacy of fungicides (both solo and combination products) against stem rot disease of paddy. Different fungicides were tested either as seed treatment (ST), seedling dip (SD), foliar spray (FS) or in combinations. Disease was measured in 0-9 standard evaluation scale and scores were transformed into percent disease index (PDI). PDI of Kharif 2014 and Kharif 2015 were pooled to get the mean PDI.

Downy mildew disease (DMD) of cucumber is destructive in nature and reduces fruit yield. Fungicides were used to control DMD but still DMD occurs. Hence, for the good alternative fungicide to control DMD, field experiment on efficacy of ametoctradin + dimethmorph against DMD was conducted in rabi and kharif season. Powdery mildew of cucurbits is caused by two causal agents, Sphaerotheca fuliginea (Syn. Podosphaera xanthii) and Erysiphe cichoracearum (Syn. Golovinomyces cichoracearum). To assess the distribution of powdery mildew in major cucurbit crops and also to identify peculiar characteristics of these causal agents, survey was conducted in various places of Coimbatore and Dindigal districts of Tamil Nadu.

Bacterial leaf spot bacterium (Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. vignaeradiatae) of green gram caused considerable damage every year during Kharif season and sometimes become very severe, which results in heavy loss in grain yield. The maximum mean per cent disease index was observed in Vallabhnagar followed by Kotra, Mavli, Jhadol, Gogunda, Salumber Tehsil and least percent disease index was observed at Kherwara Tehsil of Udaipur districts during surveys in the years i.e. 2013 and 2014.The per cent disease index varied from 07.56 - 32.60 and 08.56 - 29.42 in the years 2013 and 2014, respectively.

Tomato is affected by a large number of diseases. Among these, collars rot disease of tomato cause by S. rolfsii is a threatening disease in eastern coastal regions of Odisha. Twenty one onion varieties were tested during 2017-18 at Pantnagar, Uttarakhand for evaluating their resistance levels against Stemphylium blight disease of onion caused by Stemphylium vesicarium (Wallr) Simmons under field and glasshouse conditions. Transmission of CLCuD by Bemisia tabaci, the role of alternative weed hosts, infested cotton plants is well understood. However, the relationship of viruliferous whitefly population and CLCuD incidence is still not clear.
