  • The present study was undertaken to monitor bovine fluorosis in Chhattisgarh. A total of 528 cattle suspected for fluorosis were examined and the percentage of prevalence of fluorosis was 23.84%. Cattles of age group above 3 years were found to be more affected and females were more affected as compared to males for fluorosis. Maximum concentration of fluoride in water, soil and forage was recorded in Bastar district followed by Dhamtari, Bilaspur and Durg District. Higher concentration of fluoride was recorded in plasma, urine and hair in fluoride intoxicated cattle.

  • The present study was conducted to record the prevalence percentage (%), suitable cytological diagnostic procedure followed by isolation of causative agent and effective therapies against otitis externa.   • For dietary status, growth, development and health, optimal feeding procedures are needed for infants and young children. In order to meet the difference in dietary demands transition foods need to be included in the diet. Diet diversity refers to all food groups being included in the diet. To assess food intake, a food intake questionnaire and a dietary recall method lasting 24 hours were used. Using the seven food groups, diet variety was calculated. ANOVA was used to compare means. Sixty infants and young children have been engaged in these studies.

  • The present study was conducted to know the selective breeding, feeding and management practices followed by dairy farmers in Punjab. A total of 150 farmers were selected randomly and divided into three categories, small (n=48), medium (n=74) and large (n=28). With help of well-structured interview schedule and pretested questionnaire data were collected w.r.t. breeding, feeding and management practices being followed. The data revealed that the farmers offered 20-40 kg of green fodder and 2-5 kg of concentrate mixture to dairy animals, but only 23.

  • Accurate identification, isolation and antibiotic sensitivity pattern of non-fermenting gram-negative bacilli (NFGNB) is important for proper patient management. Aim: to find out the prevalence and the antibiotic sensitivity pattern of non- fermenters (NFs). A cross-sectional study was conducted on specimen collected from patients of tertiary care centre and send to microbiology laboratory for culture and sensitivity. Out of 4819 specimens collected in a year, 3363 (69.78%) were found culture positive and among them 378 (7.84%) were positive for NFGNB.

  • Seed health testing to detect seed-borne pathogens is an important step in the management of crop diseases. Laboratory experiments were carried out at College of Agriculture, Bhawanipatna during Kharif, 2018 to investigate the planting value of the seed and extent of seed-borne fungal pathogen problems from farmers saved seeds in Western undulated Zone of Odisha. A total number of six seed samples of Sesame were collected from farmers saved seeds in M. Rampur, Karlapada, Bhawanipatna, T. Rampur, Kesinga and Narla block of Kalahandi districts.

  • Milk has been regarded as wholesome food since centuries. The major milk proteins are the casein (80%) and the whey proteins (10%). One of the prominent milk proteins in cattle i.e. beta casein, is encoded by highly polymorphic genes, leading to formation of 12 protein variants. The present study was conducted in 2017 to evaluate Toxoplasma prevalence and related knowledge in pregnant women and university staff of Kirkuk city.1000 individuals had submitted a questionnaire form to assess their knowledge on Toxoplasma. Sero-prevalence screen of the disease was done by ELIZA technique in 276 individuals of the pregnant women. The total infection rate of the disease among the pregnant women was 9.8%.
