Identification of genetic diversity in heat tolerance and associated traits is of great importance for improving heat tolerance in cool-season grass species. The objectives of this study were to determine genetic variations in heat tolerance associated with phenotypic and physiological traits and to identify molecular markers associated with heat tolerance in a diverse collection of perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.).

Soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] Seeds loose viability at a rapid pace under tropical and subtropical conditions. Poor seed longevity in cultivated soybean genotypes may associates with seed size, testa colour and seed coat permeability. Present study aims to understand kinetics of imbibation and evaluate the seed coat permeability in Glycine tomentella, Glycine soja and Glycine max. Out of all 125 genotypes of three species, 20 genotypes of wild annual and perennial species were small and hard seeded.

This study carried out in Puri district of Odisha during June 2015 – May 2016 to determine the species diversity in coconut based agroforestry system in 15 different sizes (0.1 to 1.5 acre) of land holdings. The chosen coconut based agroforestry systems were visited in three cropping seasons such as kharif, rabi and summer and the observations on floral composition, height of plants, number of trees, number of livestock animals and birds, number of common plant species, different seasonal crops, different size of pond and mushroom cultivation were recorded.

A field experiment was conducted on already established silvi-horticultural system of agro-forestry at CCS H.A.U. Regional Research Station, Bawal (Rewari) during the Rabi seasons of 2011-12 and 2012-13, in which, Dalbergia sissoo and Prosopis cineraria were taken as forest tree species and Psidium guajava and Embilica officinalis as horticulture trees planted at 6×6 m distance. Winter crops (wheat, barley and oat) were taken in association with perennial woody plants forming agri-silvi-horticultural system of agroforestry. Seeds of wheat cv. WH- 711, barley cv. BH-393 and oat cv.

North Sinai deserts were surveyed for the predominant plant cover and for the culturable bacteria nesting their roots and shoots. Among 43 plant species reported, 13 are perennial (e.g. Fagonia spp., Pancratium spp.) and 30 annuals (e.g. Bromus spp., Erodium spp.). Eleven species possessed rhizo-sheath, e.g. Cyperus capitatus, Panicum turgidum and Trisetaria koelerioides.

This study was carried out in glasshouse conditions in summer 2000. Metaphase I (MI) chromosome association and numbers of chromosome arms bound were studied in autotetraploid perennial (Lolium perenne L.) and annual ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam.) and their interspecific hybrid plants (Lolium hybridum).
