Xem 1-16 trên 16 kết quả Performance of Murrah buffalo
  • In order to find out the effect of supplementation on growth performance in Murrah buffalo calves twenty four Murrah buffalo calves of about six months age were randomly divided into four groups of six calves each on the basis of body weight (BW) in a completely randomized design (CRD).

  • The success of a dairy industry in India is much dependent on buffaloes and the level of production and reproduction traits. These performance traits depend on several genetic and non-genetic factors which introduce biasness in the estimation of genetic value of performance traits. In the absence of accurate phenotypic value of milk production traits, it becomes difficult to estimate genetic parameters of the traits which determine the optimum selection criterion for planned improvement programme of the animals.

  • he present investigation was conducted to study the effect of various non genetic factors like farm, parity, period of calving and season of calving on different production traits like total lactation milk yield (TLMY), 305 day milk yield (305MY), peak yield (PY), milk yield per day of lactation length (MY/LL) and milk yield per day of calving interval (MY/CI) in Murrah buffaloes. The data analysed include records of 2959 buffaloes, progeny of 219 sires maintained over a period of 24 years (1992-2015) at Buffalo research centre (BRC), LUVAS, Hisar and Animal farm ICAR-CIRB, Hisar.

  • The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of buffalo’s calf weaning and suckling on reproductive performance of dam. Sixteen down calver Murrah buffaloes were selected and divided into two groups of 8 buffaloes in each group as weaned (T1) and suckling (T2) on the basis of their similarity in lactation milk yield and parities and reproductive performance.

  • The combined effects of prilled fat and yeast culture (YC) mixture supplementation were investigated on the production performance and economics in 18 early lactating Murrah buffaloes. Buffaloes were divided into two groups as control group (CON group) and supplemented group (SG). CON group was fed wheat straw, maize fodder and concentrate mixture, while SG was supplemented additionally with 100g prilled fat and 25g Saccharomyces cerevisiae (SC)/day from -21day prepartum to 90 days postpartum.

  • Arthrogryposis is a common inherited deformity characterized by contracture of tendons and fixation of joints. In the present case, a pluriparous buffalo was presented in the clinics with the history of straining from 12 hours. After performing the caesarean section, a dead male buffalo calf was delivered with bilateral arthrogryposis of carpel joint and fetlock joint in both the forelimb and fetlock joint in both the hind limb.

  • A total of 18 Murrah buffaloes of 1st to 3 rd parity were selected to study the effect of Body Condition Score (BCS) in milk production, milk composition and reproductive performance of lactating Murrah buffaloes. The Murrah buffaloes were distributed into three different groups with six animals in each group based on their pre-calving BCS (15 days before expected date of calving) namely G1 (2.50 - 3.00), G2 (3.25 - 3.75) and G3 (4.00 and above).

  • The BCS was evaluated using visual observation and palpation to 5 point scale and the milk components was analysed using ultrasonic auto milk analyser. The BCS, body weight, DMI, peak milk yield and persistency of lactation during entire study were statistically similar in both the groups.

  • The study was designed to assess the effect of Moringa oleifera leaf meal on feed intake and growth performance of murrah buffalo calves. A total of 12 Murrah buffalo calves with similar body weight of either sex at the age of 5th day was selected and randomly distributed in two different groups (Control and M10) with six calves in each group. Control group reared on calf starter along with milk.

  • The study was conducted on twelve lactating Murrah buffaloes which were randomly distributed into 2 groups consisting of six animals in each group i.e. control group without any fenugreek supplementation and treatment group supplemented with soaked fenugreek seeds @ 100 g per animal per day. The animals were maintained under same managemental conditions. The observations were recorded 3 months (90 days) postpartum.

  • The present study was undertaken to evaluate the effect of microclimate alteration devices and feed additives on productive performance and feed intake of lactating Murrah buffaloes during summer for a period of 90 days. Twenty four early lactating Murrah buffaloes of similar body weight, parity and milk yield were selected and distributed randomly into 4 equal groups by using randomized block design (RBD). The first group T1 was provided with foggers operated daily during hot hours from 12.00 Noon to 15.

  • An experiment was conducted to study the effect of varying levels of garlic supplementation on growth performance and body condition score in Murrah buffalo calves. In a CRD model, 18 Murrah buffalo calves in the age group of 4-5 months were randomly divided into three groups (T0, T1 and T2) with six calves in each group. The T0 group served as the control whereas the T1 and T2 groups were supplemented with garlic powder at the dose rate of 250 and 300 mg per kg body weight, respectively for a period of 90 days.
