  • The article studied Trò Ma in order to clarify the profound human value of children's "filial piety" to their parents when their parents pass away. At the same time, the research results clarified the differences in Trò Ma of Muong ethnic groups in Thanh Hoa, thereby suggesting solutions for relevant organs to preserve and promote this art form that is being lost.

  • Prediction of cell type-specific, in vivo transcription factor binding sites is one of the central challenges in regulatory genomics. Here, we present our approach that earned a shared first rank in the “ENCODE-DREAM in vivo Transcription Factor Binding Site Prediction Challenge” in 2017. In post-challenge analyses, we benchmark the influence of different feature sets and find that chromatin accessibility and binding motifs are sufficient to yield state-of-the-art performance.

  • The estimation of quantiles is one of the most fundamental data mining tasks. As most realtime data streams vary dynamically over time, there is a quest for adaptive quantile estimators. The most well-known type of adaptive quantile estimators is the incremental one which documents the state-of-the art performance in tracking quantiles.

  • The rapid development of the Internet and the wide spread of its applications has affected many aspects of our life. However, this development also makes the cyberspace more vulnerable to various attacks. Thus, detecting and preventing these attacks are crucial for the next development of the Internet and its services. Recently, machine learning methods have been widely adopted in detecting network attacks. Among many machine learning methods, AutoEncoders (AEs) are known as the state-of-the-art techniques for network anomaly detection.

  • In this sense, our work is divided into three parts, the first part is a state of the art of the classification of SCMs. The second is intended to explain the similarities between the five types of SCMs and the particularities of each of them. And in the third part, we have presented a distinction of the performance evaluation criteria for each type of SCM according to the trilogy: "objective-constraint-resource".

  • Ubiquitous learning and foreign language learning in listening Ubiquitous learning enables learners to learn in their daily life and helps them to overcome limitations of time and space. Learners who study a foreign language with mobile devices will be able to experience learning from an authentic situation and have their learning performance enhanced (Nash, 2007), as multiple sense stimuli may be more helpful to learners in absorbing knowledge. So far, ubiquitous learning has been implemented in many types ...

  • An important relation in information extraction is the part-whole relation. Ontological studies mention several types of this relation. In this paper, we show that the traditional practice of initializing minimally-supervised algorithms with a single set that mixes seeds of different types fails to capture the wide variety of part-whole patterns and tuples. The results obtained with mixed seeds ultimately converge to one of the part-whole relation types.

  • Recently, Russell (2003) performed a similar study, also by using artworks to test Bartletts concept of effort after meaning (Bartlett, 1932). In accordance with Bartletts pre- diction, in a within-subjects design, Russell (2003) found an increase in the meaningfulness and hedonic value from first to second ratings when the paintings were presented with descriptions in the second phase (description plus title and the artists name). In Russells study, images of abstract and semiabstract art were presented. A comparison between abstract and representational art was not made.

  • Some adaptation of the Greek dress, the most perfect of known costumes has been suggested as meeting all needs. The simple Chyton would be pretty enough for young and finely moulded women, but for the many it would be too trying and monotonous. Robust and lovely as is the pure English type, the race is too mixed as I have said to endure one costume; long-limbed and short- limbed, the small waisted and the heavily built, could not be equally set off by such a dress, any more than fair and dark can submit to one colour. The Greek pallium,...

  • We programmers are a demanding bunch, always looking for ways to improve the performance, efficiency, and portability of our programs. We also demand much from the tools we use, especially when it comes to programming languages. There are many programming languages, but only a few are great. A great programming language must be powerful, yet flexible. Its syntax must be terse, but clear. It must facilitate the creation of correct code while not getting in our way. It must support state-of-the-art features, but not trendy dead ends.

  • Notwithstanding the tremendous effort to solve the face recognition problem, it is not possible yet to design a face recognition system with a potential close to human performance. New computer vision and pattern recognition approaches need to be investigated. Even new knowledge and perspectives from different fields like, psychology and neuroscience must be incorporated into the current field of face recognition to design a robust face recognition system.
