NS1 antigen, known as Non Structural antigen is an important antigenic component of Dengue Virus. Dengue virus is transmitted by bite of Aedes aegyptii mosquito. Hemorrhagic manifestations and shock syndrome are most dreaded complications of Dengue IgM antibody is produced in Acute phase and IgG in later phases of Dengue and may remain for very long periods.

Schnitzler’s syndrome (SchS) is a rare autoinflammatory syndrome with diagnostic challenge and be characterized by chronic urticaria, a monoclonal gammopath, periodic fever and bone pain. In addition to the monoclonal gammopathy, bone abnormalities are often found at the site of bone pain in patients with SchS.

Milk fever is the common disease and one among the important metabolic disorder in lactating dairy animals. It is an afebrile hypocalcaemic disease of cattle usually associated with immediately after parturition and initiation of lactation. Milk fever is a metabolic disease occurring in dairy animals during parturient period and management is economically most important, as it results in not only reduction in milk production but also loss of animals.

Milk fever is occurring in dairy animals during parturient period and management is economically most important, as it results in not only reduction in milk production but also loss of animals In the present study, logistic regression model was employed to estimate the probability of a particular dairy animal affected with milk fever or not. Namakkal and Karur districts of Tamil Nadu were purposively selected for the present study, a total of 83 (64 cow and 19 buffalo) milk fever affected dairy animals were selected through purposive sampling technique from these districts.

The objective of the present study is 1. To study the changing laboratory profiles in dengue viral infections. 2. To correlate these laboratory tests during the evolution of dengue fever and in assessing severity of disease. 3. To study the association of these profiles in remission of the disease. 4. And also to study factors involved in predicting prognosis.

Nipah virus is an emerging zoonotic paramyxovirus that causes severe and often fatal disease in pigs and humans. The natural host of the virus is fruit bats of the Family Pteropodidae. The virus spreads through direct contact with infected bats, pigs, or from other infected people. After an incubation period of two weeks, the disease presents as fever, headache, dizziness and vomiting, followed by drowsiness, disorientation and mental confusion.

Nutritional deficiencies, imbalances or erratic management of feeding programs for dairy cows can create various types of health problems generally referred as metabolic diseases. High producing lactating cows are the most susceptible to metabolic diseases during the periparturient period. During this period the animal is tremendously challenged to maintain calcium homeostasis because of physiological and pathological factors. Milk fever is an important metabolic disorder of dairy cattle around the time of calving.

Rickettsial diseases are generally classified under the causes of Fever of unknown origin (FUO) and high prevalence of this disease is found in developing countries like India. Due to the difficulties in clinical diagnosis and lack of laboratory methods in many geographical areas it is an underestimated public health problem. Mortality may be as high as 30-40% if untreated. This is a retrospective study conducted to estimate the prevalence of rickettsial diseases among the patients visiting a tertiary care center in rural southern India for a period of 18 months.

Dengue Fever is a Flaviviral infection transmitted by the Aedes mosquitoes. It is a major public health issue in tropical and subtropical countries. Dengue virus is having four serotypes. It may progress to Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever, which can lead to Dengue Shock Syndrome and death. The study was conducted in the Department of Microbiology. K S. Hegde Medical Academy with the blood samples collected from the patients with clinical diagnoses of Dengue without any age or gender restriction. The samples were collected from the period of October 2015 to April 2017.

Enteric fever is an endemic disease in India and Widal test is widely used for its diagnosis and to plan treatment. Interpretation of Widal test depends upon the antibody titer present amongst the healthy, asymptomatic individuals in that geographical area. Aim: To determine the Endemic titer of Salmonella enterica subspecies enterica serovar Typhi and Paratyphi among healthy individuals in Meerut City and to find out the local recommendations for the interpretation of Widal test.

Aggressive course and resistance to treatments usually characterize very early onset inflammatory bowel disease (VEO-IBD). Some VEO-IBD cases are due to monogenic immune defects and can benefit from hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT).

Eighteen animals were engaged for therapeutic trial with three groups (Group 1; Control, Group 2; Mixture of Ammonium Chloride and Calcium Sulphate at 1:1 ratio and Group 3; Commercial salts preparation, Hyporid™) containing six animals each. The efficacy of various anionic salt preparations was determined on the basis of haemato-biochemical changes and incidence of milk fever after calving. Dietary Cation-Anion Difference (DCAD) concentration in control group was positive (+25.22 mEq/100gm of dry matter).

Dengue fever is an acute febrile infectious disease, caused by any of four serotypes. Severe dengue infections may give rise to many complications such as liver failure, disseminated intravascular coagulation, encephalopathy, myocarditis, acute renal failure and haemolytic uraemic syndrome. ST segment and T wave changes in the electrocardiogram together with low ejection fraction and global hypokinesia on radionuclide ventriculography have been found. Hence, this study was intended to assess the cardiac manifestations in dengue fever patients.

This case follows a 14-month-old female, who despite multiple presentations to several physicians, continued to have recurrent febrile episodes with gross motor delay. Her case revealed an often missed diagnosis of Mevalonate Kinase Deficiency, that now has an FDA approved treatment that both reduces recurrence and produces remission.

Heat stress is a form of non fever hyperthermia occurs when heat load exceeds than the heat loss from the body. The body temperature reaches above 105 – 106˚ F, often complicated by changes in other body system such as acid-base balance, kidney, liver, cerebral edema and blood clotting mechanism. More common in brachycephalic breeds, long thick hairy breeds, young ones and aged animals. Physical examination is marked by excessive hyperemia, panting, hypersalivation, tachycardia, and various neurologic signs.

Dengue has become a major international public health problem due to human morbidity and mortality it causes. Dengue NS1 antigen has been detected in the serum of DEN virus infected patients as early as one day of onset of symptoms. In this study the potential use of dengue NS1 antigen and in early dengue diagnosis has been analysed. The study group consists of all febrile patients with fever of duration less than 5 days attending the medical OPD for a period of one year from July 2013. The blood sample was subjected to an immunochromatographic test for NS1 antigen, IgM and IgG antibodies.

Dengue is a mosquito borne viral disease (Priyadarshini et al., 2016). It belongs to the family of Flavivirus. It is transmitted mainly by the bite of Aedes aegypti mosquito. Outbreaks are due to the four serotypes DEN1, DEN2, DEN3, DEN4. Increasing incidence and repeated outbreaks turns this disease as a serious public health problem (Barrera et al., 2002). Urbanization, improper water management and the vector population are the main causes for the spread of the disease. Dengue is a leading causes of hospitalization and death among children (Mistry et al., 2013).

Typhoid fever continues to be a major public health problem and the emergence of antimicrobial resistance by Salmonellae typhi adds to the complexity in treating the patients. Salmonella enterica subspecies enterica serovar typhi, the human specific, causative agent of typhoid fever, is one of the most common infectious diseases in developing countries like India 1. Widal test is associated with numerous limitations, but is still considered and extensively used as the diagnostic tool in our area.
