Malaria is major public health issue and Ballari is an endemic area. Peripheral blood smear examination (PBS) is done routinely. However, PBS during febrile period is essential for demonstration of parasite. In most cases, sample collection during afebrile period or at inappropriate timings results in smear negative reports. Hence, rapid antigen detection tests would be ideal or can be a supportive test to early diagnosis of malaria.

The study was conducted to examine the effects of CT from Ficus benghalensis leaves on the feed utilization and health status of kids. Twenty-one Surti kids (4-5 month; 13.04±1.12 kg BW) were divided into three homogenous groups CON (dewormed), PAR (naturally parasitized) and PAR-TAN (naturally parasitized with dietary inclusion of tanniferous leaves). The kids of CON and PAR were maintained in a basal diet, while that of PAR-TAN group were fed a diet containing Ficus benghalensis leaves to supply 1.5% condensed tannin (CT).

Gastro intestinal helminthosis in horses are the serious health problem contributing to poor body condition, reduced work out, poor reproductive performance and short life span. Objective is to study the prevalence of gastrointestinal helminths of horses. A total of 247 faecal samples were collected from the horses. Faecal samples were brought to the laboratory for further processing and examined for the presence of parasitic infection by standard faecal sample examination method.

Nepal has a fairly high adolescent fertility rate and low use of contraception. Lack of contraceptive use is a major contributor to the high rates of unintended pregnancies amongst youth. There is also lack of specific studies dealing with contraceptive behavior among young married women. This study examines the use and determinants of contraceptive methods over the time period of 15 years (2001-2016) among young women in Nepal. Trend and bi-vatiate analysis of this study is based on the Nepal Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS), 2001, 2006, 2011 and 2016 data.

The overuse of medicines has frequently occurred at health facilities in Vietnam. Many factors affect prescription. This study was carried out to investigate the patterns of outpatient prescription and factors related to prescription of doctors. Subjects and method: Cross-sectional study with a total of 300 outpatient drug prescriptions and 30 questionnaires of physicians were conducted at Phongdien Medical Center, Cantho city during the period of 2017 - 2018.
