This study aims to evaluate perioperative, oncological, and functional outcomes of laparoscopic partial nephrectomy performed for cT1bN0M0 renal cell carcinoma at Binh Dan Hospital. Data were collected on 37 patients who had undergone laparoscopic partial nephrectomy for cT1bN0M0 renal cell carcinoma from January 2021 to September 2023.

Undifferentiated sarcomatoid carcinoma of the pancreas-a single-institution experience with 23 cases
The clinical course and surgical outcomes of undifferentiated sarcomatoid carcinoma of the pancreas (USCP) remain poorly characterized owing to its rarity. This study aimed to describe the histology, clinicopathologic features, perioperative outcomes, and overall survival (OS) of 23 resected USCP patients.

Pediatric kidney transplants has been increasing in recent years, as the procedure provides long-lasting and favorable outcomes; however many complications can occur in post-transplant period. The early perioperative care plays a significant role in reducing complications and improving the quality of treatment. Objectives: To describe the clinical, laboratory, and early complications in perioperative period post kidney transplant surgery.

It has been reported that inflammatory and nutritional markers are related to prognosis in numerous malignancies. The present study analyzed the significance of these markers’ alterations during neoadjuvant chemotherapy in the long-term outcomes in patients with advanced gastric cancer.

Whether a transthoracic (TT) procedure by a thoracic surgeon or a transabdominal (TA) by a gastrointestinal surgeon is best for Siewert type II esophagogastric junction adenocarcinoma (EGJA) remains unknown. Survival and perioperative outcomes were compared between the two groups in this meta-analysis to clarify this argument.

The modulation of perioperative inflammation seems crucial to improve postoperative morbidity and cancer-related outcomes in patients undergoing oncological surgery. Data from the literature suggest that perioperative corticosteroids decrease inflammatory markers and might be associated with fewer complications in esophageal, liver, pancreatic and colorectal surgery.

This presents both a challenge and an opportunity for the anesthesiologist who has a duty to respect the patient’s autonomy while simultaneously achieving the appropriate perioperative outcome. The considerations are especially important in the vulnerable population of pregnant women.

Neoadjuvant chemoradiation followed by esophagectomy has been established as the frst-line treatment for locally advanced esophageal cancer. Postoperative enteral nutrition has been widely used to improve perioperative outcomes. However, whether to implement preoperative nutritional intervention during neoadjuvant therapy is yet to be verifed by prospective studies.

Major abdominal surgery is associated with significant risk of morbidity and mortality in the perioperative period. Optimising intraoperative fluid administration may result in improved outcomes. Our aim was to compare the effects of central venous pressure (CVP), and central venous oxygen saturation (ScvO2)-assisted fluid therapy on postoperative complications in patients undergoing high risk surgery.

While anesthesiologist’s involvement in palliative care has been widely researched, extensive data on palliative patients under anesthesiological care in the operating room is missing. This study was performed to assess the incidence, demographics, and outcome of palliative patients under anesthesiological care.

Persistently variable success has been experienced in locally translating even well-grounded national clinical practice guidelines, including in the perioperative setting. We have sought greater applicability and acceptance of clinical practice guidelines and protocols with our novel Perioperative Risk Optimization and Management Planning Tool (PROMPT™).

Perioperative blood transfusions have been associated with poor clinical outcomes in the context of oncological surgery. Current literature is inconclusive whether blood transfusions are linked to shorter recurrence free and overall survival after lung cancer surgery. We hypothesize that blood transfusions in patients undergoing surgery for non-small cell lung cancer are associated with poor oncological survival.
