Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) represents a common and heterogeneous malignancy of the oral cavity, pharynx and larynx. Surgery and radio(chemo)therapy are the standard treatment options and also have great influence on the composition of the tumor microenvironment and immune cell functions.

Circulating cell-free DNA (cfDNA, liquid biopsy) is a powerful tool to detect molecular alterations. However, depending on tumor characteristics, biology and anatomic localization, cfDNA detection and analysis may be challenging. Gliomas are enclosed into an anatomic sanctuary, which obstacles the release of cfDNA into the peripheral blood.

Investigating novel therapeutic strategies for colorectal cancer (CRC) is imperative. However, there is limited research on the use of drugs to target peripheral blood immune cells in this context. To address this gap, we performed a two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis to identify potential therapeutic targets for CRC.

Ebook "DNA damage detection in situ, ex vivo, and in vivo: Methods and protocols" presents all major assays used in molecular and cell biology for the labeling of DNA damage in situ, ex vivo, and in vivo. It brings together recently introduced techniques, as well as those established earlier, which detect and quantify DNA damage at the scales ranging from subcellular to the level of a whole, living organism.

Cancer recurrence after tumor resection in early-stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is common, yet difficult to predict. The lung microbiota and systemic immunity may be important modulators of risk for lung cancer recurrence, yet biomarkers from the lung microbiome and peripheral immune environment are understudied. Such markers may hold promise for prediction as well as improved etiologic understanding of lung cancer recurrence.

Early death remains a major factor in survival in APL. We aimed to analyze the risk factors for differentiation syndrome and early death in acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL). The clinical data of APL patients who were newly diagnosed at Mianyang Central Hospital from January 2013 to January 2022 were retrospectively analyzed.

Markers that can be used to evaluate the prognosis of patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) remain undefined. Objective This study aimed to investigate the prognostic impact of preoperative neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), and lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR) in patients with HNSCC who underwent surgery-based treatment for the first time.

While quadruplet induction therapies deepen responses in newly diagnosed multiple myeloma patients, their impact on peripheral blood stem cell (PBSC) collection remains incompletely understood. This analysis aims to evaluate the effects of prolonged lenalidomide induction and isatuximab- or elotuzumab-containing quadru‑ plet induction therapies on PBSC mobilization and collection.

Autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation therapy has been widely used in recent decades for the treatment of hematological diseases, cancer, and autoimmune diseases. In autoimmune diseases, self-activated T lymphocytes and B lymphocytes secreting antibodies against host antigens are considered to be central in the pathogenesis of the disease.

The Pegylated recombinant human granulocyte colony stimulating factor (PEG-rhG-CSF) has longer half-life and is given once only, which is more comfortable for patients. We aimed to evaluate the efficacy of mecapegfilgrastim for hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) mobilization in patients with hematologic malignancies and to explore the potential factors related to HSC mobilization.
