Patient safety incident (PSI) reporting has been an important means of improving patient safety and enhancing organizational quality control. Reports of anesthesia-related incidents are of great value for analysis to improve perioperative patient safety. However, the utilization of incident data is far from sufficient, especially in developing countries such as China.

The adverse effects of high temperature stress can be alleviated by thermotolerance induced by exogenous application of plant growth regulators or by gradual application of temperature stress. Physalis peruviana L., commonly known as the Cape gooseberry, is a source of a variety of phytocompounds such as withanolides (withanone, withaferin A, and withanolide A). These withanolides are potentially high-value drug candidates because of their various pharmacological properties. The production of withanolides via traditional agriculture is commercially inadequate.

Twenty-five new hydroxy- and methoxy-substituted 4,6-diarylpyrimidin-2(1H)-ol (20–34) and 4,6-diarylpyrimidine-2(1H)-thiol derivatives (35–44) were synthesized from the reaction of the corresponding 1,3-diaryl-2-propene-1- one compounds (1–19) with urea or thiourea using the solid-phase microwave method. All the new synthetic compounds (20–44) were evaluated with regard to their α-glucosidase activity. However, only compounds 22–25, 27, 31, 34, 35, 37, and 40 exhibited a greater inhibitory effect than standard acarbose. The IC50 values of the active compounds ranged between 2.36 and 13.

The studies of oysters are mostly oriented into fast food or functional foods. The method of processing is still simple, mainly manual or hydrolyzed technic, then they are dried into protein powder. On the other hand, a dual procedure that both isolates phospholipids and hydrolyzes to oligopeptides has not been studied. Due to these reasons, the purpose of our study is to establish a process to isolate high phospholipid containing eicosanoids and soluble oligopeptides with high nutritional and pharmacological values from oysters.

The low success rate and high cost of drug discovery requires the development of new paradigms to identify molecules of therapeutic value. The Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical (ATC) Code System is a World Health Organization (WHO) proposed classification that assigns multi-level codes to compounds based on their therapeutic, pharmacological and chemical characteristics as well as the in-vivo sites(s) of activity.

The use of various herbal remedies and preparations are described throughout human history representing the origin of modern medicine. Herbal medicine is also called botanical medicine or phyto-medicine, and is defined as the use whole plants or part of plants to prevent or treat illness. Medicinal plants constitute an important component of flora and are widely distributed in India. The pharmacological evaluation of substances from plants is an established method for the identification of lead compounds which can leads to the development of novel and safe medicinal agents.

Nutrient contents in the leaves of mulberry, Morus alba (L) made it to occupy the pace making place in the sericultural practices. The mulberry, Morus alba (L.) is native to eastern and central China. It became naturalized in Europe centuries ago. The tree was introduced into America for silkworm culture in early colonial times and naturalized and hybridized with the native red mulberry. The red or American mulberry is native to eastern United States from Massachusetts to Kansas and down to the Gulf coast.

In this study, systematic separation and subsequent pharmacological activity studies were carried out to identify cytotoxic natural products from the dried stems of Millettia pachyloba Drake. Five previously undescribed isoflavones, pachyvones A–E; one previously undescribed xanthone, pachythone A; and twenty-two known compounds were obtained. The structures of these compounds were assigned on the basis of 1D/2D NMR data and high-resolution electrospray ionization mass spectroscopy analysis.
