  • In low-cost permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive systems, the rotor position is usually estimated based on the back-electromotive force. However, such estimation methods have the common drawback of having large errors in low-speed regions. In order to solve that drawback in the startup phase, the I-f startup method is studied as its compatibility with the FOC control structure. The purpose of such a method is to make the motor accelerate and overcome the low-speed threshold.

  • The geometries and relative stabilities of 15 tautomeric forms and the corresponding isomers of the studied molecules have been identified and their relative stabilities are investigated. The potential energy profiles and intrinsic reaction coordinates (IRC) calculations along the proton transfer coordinates both in the ground and in the excited state are monitored as well. The impact of the donating (OMe) and withdrawing (NO2) groups on the single and double proton transfers are investigated both in the gas phase and solution.

  • With Beech veneers being treated with 10% solid content of the chemicals from paper (Alkyl ketene dimer, AKD), wood (N-methylol melamine, NMM-1) and textile industry (fatty acid modified N-methylol melamine, mNMM-2), the results showed that the treatments with these chemicals considerably increased the water repellence effectiveness (WRE) of veneers in the initial submersion phases. In this paper, veneers treated with Nmethylol melamine and AKD chemicals were investigated on water/moisture related properties and their stability after cyclic tests.

  • Rotary Inverted Pendulum (RIP) plays a vital role in control engineering. Rotary Inverted Pendulum is a complex, nonlinear, non-minimum-phase and under-actuated system which has various applications in the field of Robotics. The main contribution of this paper is to design and control RIP by using Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) controller for stabilization at vertically upright position - the unstable equilibrium point, and Linear Quadratic Tracker (LQT) controller for tracking the desired trajectory.
