In this study, we investigated the phenolic profile of L. orientalis. using HPLC, and 5 compounds from BL-1, (juglone, naringenin, rosmarinic acid, vanillic acid, echinacoside) and 4 compounds from BL-2 (juglone, apigenin-7-glucoside, naringenin, vanillic acid) were reported for the first time. A total of six new flavonoids (juglone, naringenin, rosmarinic acid, echinacoside, vanillic acid, and apigenin-7-glucoside) were identified from BL’s by HPLC analysis.

This study intended to focus on the effect of different levels of NaCl (0–400 mM, at regular intervals every 100 mM) on the growth, secondary metabolites, and antioxidant enzyme activities of Polygonum equisetiforme, a wild plant with medicinal and industrial uses, which often grows in harsh environmental conditions. Our results showed that biomass production significantly decreased with salinity, while the leaf relative water content declined only at high levels of NaCl concentration (300–400 mM).

The plant Acacia catechu (L.f) Willd hydroethanolic leaf extract was subjected to qualitative and quantitative phytochemical screening, HPTLC and GCMS analysis. The phytochemical analysis revealed the presence of carbohydrates, proteins, flavonoids, total phenolics, glycosides, total free amino acids, tannins, alkaloids and thiols. The secondary metabolites like flavonoids, tannins and total phenolics were quantified as 82μg/ml, 67.5μg/ml and 42.5μg/ml.

This study aimed to evaluate some physicochemical and functional properties as well analyze phenolic acids profiles & functional groups of raw and microwave or air-oven dried orange and lemon peels (OP&LP) for potential use as functional ingredients sources for food enrichment. Fresh LP had high %s of moisture, protein, ether extract, fiber and ash than OP. After drying, LP had less ether extract% compared to OP.

Three sweet pepper varieties viz. Swarna, California wonder and Oroballe were treated with derivatives of salicylic acid viz. Acetyl salicylic acid (ASA), 5 Sulpho salicylic acid (5 SSA) and Gentisic acid (GA) at 0.5 mM and 1 mM concentrations under ambient condition (20±5°C) and analyzed for their change in physical and biochemical profile at 3 days interval for 9 days. Fruits treated with 1 mM acetyl salicylic acid and gentisic acid significantly delayed the senescence process by delaying the changes of weight, and firmness.

The aim of this work was to establish the antioxidant capacity and the polyphenolic profile of important medicinal plant, Ficus roxburghii Wall. that could potentially be used in the human and animal diet. The widespread use of herbal remedies and healthcare preparations is described in the Vedas and the Bible. Medicinal Plants have been used for thousands of years to flavor and conserve food, to treat health disorders and to prevent diseases including epidemics.

An MS-based metabolomic approach was used to profile the secondary metabolite of the ornamental plant Erythrina lysistemon via ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled to photodiode array detection and high resolution q-TOF mass spectrometry (UPLC-PDA-MS). Cultures maintained the capacity to produce E. lysistemon flavonoid subclasses with pterocarpans amounting for the most abundant ones suggesting that it could provide a resource of such flavonoid subclass. In contrast, alkaloids, major constituents of Erythrina genus, were detected at trace levels in suspension cultures.
