Individual and competitive adsorption studies were carried out to investigate the removal of phenol and nickel ions by adsorption onto multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs). The carbon nanotubes were characterized by different techniques such as X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, thermal analysis and Fourier transformation infrared spectroscopy. The different experimental conditions affecting the adsorption process were investigated. Kinetics and equilibrium models were tested for fitting the adsorption experimental data.

Sn02 Thin films on titanium metal subotrates have been produced by spray pyrolysis method. This type film of has good stability for anodic dissolving in medium contained high concentration of CI- ions and good possibility of electron exchange. Sn02/Ti electrodes have been used in the electrochemical oxidation of phenol in alkaline medium contained CI- ions with high efficiency. Therefore, it has made them the possibility of new application in the wastewater treatment by electrochemical method.

Olive oil mills produce a liquid waste called olive black water in the olive oil production process. In this study, olive oil mill wastewater (OOMW) was analysed and then treated aerobically with fungi. Consequently, high chemical oxygen demand (COD), phenol and color reduction were obtained. High biomass yields and laccase enzyme activities were also determined.
