The crop phenology, growth and productivity are strongly influenced by changing the cropping season. The kharif (June-Oct.) is the major groundnut- growing season. The CGR is higher in kharif crop than rabi season crop, but the average per day dry matter production is similar in both the seasons. Flowering and fruiting, in groundnut, are of an indeterminate type, which generally has an effect on yield and quality. Ideal type of groundnut would be one that sets all its young fruits within 4-5 days and spends the rest of the growing season filling them.

A field experiment was conducted during rabi 2016-17 at Research farm of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana involving two barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) varieties: V1 (DWRUB 52, Two-rowed) and V2 (PL 807, Six-rowed) sown on three sowing dates viz. D1 (25th October), D2 (10th November), D3 (25th November) and three irrigation levels viz. I1 (Recommended 4 post sowing irrigation), I2 (Skip at vegetative stage), I3 (Skip at anthesis stage) replicated thrice in factorial split plot design to investigate heat summation indices in relation to crop phenology under changed microclimate.

Soybean crop is grown predominantly under rainfed conditions in Vidarbha region where weather parameters play an important role at different phenophase of the crop influencing the growth, development and final yield performance. But amongst them, only few parameters are significantly contributing to the crop growth and yield. So in order to identify such parameters and quantify their contribution, a field investigation was carried out with four sowing times and three varieties with four replications and 12 treatments.

Micronutrients are essential for human health and crucial for plant survival. Increasing temperature and heat are major abiotic stress which limits yield and nutritional quality of wheat. The objective of study is to evaluate the effect of heat stress on boron (B) micronutrient accumulation in 18 wheat varieties at three phenological stages (Booting and grain filling and maturity). Pot experiments were conducted in randomized block design with three replications during rabbi 2012-13 at DRPCAU, Pusa, Bihar.

Although the growth rate of biophysical parameters can be strongly influenced by row orientation and temperature during different phenological stages in Rapeseed-Mustard cultivars but the dynamics of plant growth is not fully understood. Hence, a field experiment was conducted at the Research farm, School of Climate Change and Agricultural Meteorology, PAU, Ludhiana to characterize the dynamic growth pattern of biophysical parameters of three Brassica cultivars under different thermal environments and row orientation.

Phenological studies at different stages of crop growth are important to mitigate the ill effects of climate change to which saffron is very much sensitive and to predict the production system modules involving cultural practices and crop protection systems. Study on phenological growth stages of natural temporal sub-populations of Kashmir saffron (Crocus sativus L.) carried over 2 years revealed that the ontogenesis period of saffron with above ground organs is almost similar to period showing no organs above ground.

An investigation was carried out for evaluating the table grape genotypes against incidence of mites in Sector No. 70, UHS, Bagalkot, Karnataka after fore pruning (October) 2016 at different phenological stages. Results revealed that among 12 grape genotypes studied, significantly lowest mites population was recorded in Red Globe (T12) (8.63 mites/sq. inch of leaf) after 115 DAP. Significantly the highest population of mites was recorded in Fantasy Seedless (T10) (14.48 mites/sq. inch of leaf) after 115 DAP. Correlation studies revealed that the incidence of mites per sq.

One field experiment was conducted in the winter season of the year 2016-2017 to determine the effects of agro-climatic factors on crop developmental rate (CDR) of grass pea (Lathyrus sativus L.). CDR of a phenological stage is simply the reciprocal of the duration of that particular stage. Grass pea (variety: ‘Prateek’) was sown on nine different dates (26th October, 2nd November, 9th November, 16th November, 23rd November, 30th November, 7th December, 14th December and 21st December).

Green gram (Vigna radiate L.) is a short day plant and generally requires fairly hot conditions for its optimum growth and yield. Crop growth and development are closely related with energy requirement parameters, such as growing degree days (GDD), photothermal unit (PTU) and Helio-thermal Units (HTU).
