  • An experiment was carried out at Horticultural Research Station, Mondouri, BCKV, West Bengal, India during 2013-14 and 2014-15 with an objective of evaluating the effects of different sowing dates on growth, phenology and yield of fenugreek cultivar AFg-3 under new alluvial plains of West Bengal. Six sowing dates viz. 15 days interval starting from 15th October to 30th December were considered.

  • An investigation on effect of sowing time on growth, phenology and yield attribute of summer groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) was conducted at Agrometeorological Station Farm, School of Forestry and Environment, SHIATS-Deemed-To-Be-University, Allahabad during crop season 2013. Sixteen treatment combinations with four dates of sowing (1st March, 11th March, 21st March and 31st March) and four varieties (HNG-69, R-2 (Girnar-2), HNG-10 and M-13) were tried in split plot design with four replications.

  • A field experiment was conducted during kharif season of 2016-17to identify optimum meteorological week for sowing of pigeonpea. The treatments were four sowing dates (26th MW-30 June, 28th MW-15 June, 31th MW-30 July and 33th MW-15 August and three varieties (Asha (ICPL87119), PKV-TARA, BSMR-736) with three replications and twelve treatment combinations were tested in Factorial Randomized Block Design. The results revealed that the Pigeonpea variety PKV-TARA recorded significantly higher grain (2182 kg ha-1 ).

  • The present study was conducted to evaluate 38 greengram genotypes to determinethe nature and extent of variation in the phenological traits related to synchronous maturity. A field trial was laid under a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three replications; observations were recorded on 17 morphological characters. Analysis of variance revealed significant variation among genotypes for all the characters except for 100 seed weight. Different genotypes were found superior for different characters.

  • The influence of foliar applied plant growth regulators on rice crop was conducted on hybrid rice crop during kharif season’s 2015 and 2016. Application of five growth regulators each in two concentration viz., GA3 20 and 40 ppm, IAA 25 and 50 ppm, NAA 10 and 20 ppm, Triacontanol 5 and 10 ppm, Cycocel 3000 and 4000 ppm and one unsprayed control with foliar sprays at tillering and flowering stages for growth, yield parameters. The observation was recorded at different stages of crop.
