The study was carried out during 2013-14 in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh state to focus on the sugarcane growers regarding impact of knowledge on adoption level of IPM practices. The 80 contact farmers were selected as respondents. The study revealed that the maximum knowledge gap was found to be existing in previous crop residues, crop rotation, hand picking of the insect and their destruction, hot air and water treatment, light and pheromone trap, microbial control, use of natural enemies, resistant varieties, biopesticides/ bio-agents, application and dose of different pest etc.

Evaluation of Sex Ph A field experiment was conducted in farmer’s field during the kharif season of 2014-15 under irrigated condition at Hittinahalli and Jumanal villages of Vijayapur district of Karnataka to evaluate the efficacy of different pheromone trap models as monitoring devices for brinjal shoot and fruit borer Leucinodes orbonalis. The water trap (WOTA) model had significantly highest number of moths catches (seasonal mean of 3.08 moths/trap/five days ) with lowest mean shoot damage (5.48 %) and lowest mean fruit damage (15.03 %) resulting into highest yield (489 q ha-1 ).

On farm trials in ten locations were conducted to evaluate efficacy of eco-friendly IPM strategies with emphasis on use of pheromone traps for management of brinjal shoot and fruit borer (Leucinodes orbonalis Guenee) and to create awareness among the farming community on brinjal fruit and shoot borer management during rabi, 2014-15 to 2017-18 in the farmer’s fields in Krishna District of Andhra Pradesh. By adoption of eco-friendly IPM practices in all the four years, the shoot damage was reduced on an average by 4.02 per cent compared to 9.19 per cent in farmers practice.
