Phosphate solubilising inoculants

Endophytic bacteria isolated from the Oryza sativa plant were evaluated for phosphate solubilisation. Five of these isolates that showed good phosphate solubilising activity were characterised at molecular level and tested for phosphate solubilisation using three different sources viz tricalcium phosphate (TCP), aluminium phosphate (AlPO4) and iron phosphate (FePO4). Based on 16s rRNA gene sequence analysis the isolates were identified as Pantoeaa ananatis, Pseudomonas putida, Brevibacillus agri, Bacillus subtilis and Bacillus megaterium.

Aspergillus niger inoculated into medium containing Tricalcium phosphate (TCP) and Rock phosphate (RP) resulted in acid production which is indicated from the measure of pH and titrable acidity. Maximum of 105 mM acid production is recorded in TCP supplemented culture of 12 days whereas it is 124 mM in nutrient medium aided with RP and 14 days old culture.

Expanding utilization of chemical fertilizers in farming make nation self-ward in food production for generation however it deteriorate condition and cause destructive effects on living beings. Overuse of chemical fertilizers in farming is exorbitant and has different adverse effects on soil richness. Further, soil microorganisms assume an essential part in the plant development and improvement by different means viz. nitrogen fixation, phosphate solubilisation, phytohormone generation and so forth. Hence, bio-inoculants for farming purpose i.e.

Experiment was carried out to study the effect of biofertilizers viz., Azotobacter, phosphate solubilizing bacteria and potash mobilizing bacteria, alone and in combinations along with different doses of inorganic fertilizers on yield of wheat. Highest number of tillers per hill (10.8), plant height (98.71 cm) and thousand grain weight (43.09 g) was recorded in seed treatment with MPKV Consortium + 100% RDF. Highest grain yield (44.22 q/ha) was also recorded in same treatment of MPKV Consortium + 100% RDF which was at par with treatment with 100% RDF (42.

An experiment was carried out in the Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, College of Agriculture, Vellayani during 2017-18 in order to evaluate the effect of phosphate solubilizers on the activity of different enzymes and microbial parameters in the soil and its impact on crop growth and yield of test crop tomato var. Vellayani Vijai. The experiment was laid out in a randomized block design with fourteen treatments and three replications. Treatments were the combinations of four doses of P (100%, 75%, 50%, 25%) along with P solubilizers (AMF, Pseudomonas, and Bacillus.).
