Rice is the staple food for half of the world's population. Phosphorus is an essential element for rice plant growth, development and production; however, the availability of soluble phosphate for plant uptake is often limited due to the binding with cation in different pH environments. In plants, specific microRNAs (miRNAs) essential for nutrient management and the regulation of stress responses are responsible for the control of many phosphate starvation responses.
