The aim of this study was to investigate the photocatalytic activity improving of TiO2, Ag-TiO2 as photocatalysts which immobilized on perlite granules to degrade MB from synthetic wastewater under solar light irradiation. The photocatalytic mechanisms induced by solar light responsive Ag-TiO2/perlite composite was also proposed to demonstrate the photodegradation of MB cationic dye.

In the research, graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) was synthesized using modified halloysite via a calcination method. The improvement of photocatalytic activity mainly benefits from the reduced e-/h+ pairs recombination rate, the improved electron separation yield.

In this study, the photocatalytic degradation of rhodamine b (RhB) is investigated over metal-organic framework materials based on bismuth and trimesic acid (Bi-BTC) with different metal-to-ligand molar ratios. All obtained products are characterized by using powder X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and UV–vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy.

The present study investigated the photodegradation of 2,4- Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) in a water environment using synthesized titania nanoparticles (TiO2-NPs). The TiO2-NPs fabricated by sol-gel method were distinguished by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Infrared spectroscopy (IR), and zeta potential measurements.

In this study, photocatalysis was applied to degrade methyl orange (MO ) and methylene blue (MB) pollutants using nanoparticles (i.e., Fe2O3, Mn2O3, Fe2O3 – Mn2O3). During photodecomposition, formed intermediates due to the incomplete reaction of pollutions and hydroxyl radical were investigated using the ions trap technique.

The photocatalytic activity was estimated by the degradation of 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D). The 5% Cu2O/g-C3N4 catalyst showed the highest activity, with the photodegradation yield reached 7,3%. The addition of H2O2 remarkably improved the yield, with 98,5% attained after 1 hour of irradiation.

RTW photodegradation experiments exhibited removal efficiencies of 53.25 % for apparent color, and 64.55 % for turbidity. Phytotoxicity assays using cucumber seeds showed low toxicity of the samples after photodegradation, which indicated that toxic compounds were fully mineralized.

The photocatalytic oxidation of reactive blue 2 and reactive red 120 has been studied by using TiO2 Degussa P25 as catalyst and UV-light. The formation of intermediate molecules could be predicted on the basic of point charge calculations on all the individual atoms of the dyes. The agreement between calculations from quantum theory and the results of experiments was the background to establish a pathway for degradation of reactive dyes. A plausible mechanism of dye photodegradations is discussed.
