The present investigation was carried out with the objectives to evaluate the efficacy of thirteen short listed Arthrobacter isolates under field conditions with special reference to germination, photosynthetic activity, yield, nodulation characters and nutrient uptake by soybean. Field evaluation was done during kharif 2015-16 at Research Field of Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, JNKVV, Jabalpur, M.P. Outcome of the experimental findings revealed that most of the isolates showed their role for early seed germination at 4th and 6th days after sowing (DAS).

The study was carried out to assess the genetic variability and association of traits with respect to seed yield and its components in sesame genotypes. Seventy five sesame genotypes were grown during kharif 2016 at the Project Coordinating Unit Sesame and Niger, JNKVV, Jabalpur for the estimation of phenotypic and genotypic variances, heritability, genetic advances, correlation and path coefficient analysis for seed yield and yield related traits. High values for phenotypic coefficient of variation (PCV) and genotypic coefficient of variation (GCV) was recorded for traits viz.

The study was conducted during Kharif season of 2015- 16. The data was subjected to analysis of variance and was found that the germplasm differed significantly for all the characters studied. The estimates of genotypic and phenotypic variances were worked out for all the characters. While considering the WUE traits high GCV estimates were observed for leaf area (34.74%), photosynthetic rate (20.62%), stomatal conductance (28.50%), transpiration rate (36.32%) and extrinsic WUE (40.57%).

Nitrogen is the major nutrient element required for the plant growth and development. In rice, development of varieties with improved nitrogen use efficiency will reduce the nitrogen fertilizer application. This study was investigating the genotypic differences in photosynthetic nitrogen use efficiency, nitrogen use efficiency, yield and yield related traits of 12 different rice genotypes under two different nitrogen levels viz., T1 and T2. Different physiological and agronomical characters were measured in selected 12 genotypes, growing in field.
