Zinc oxide/sodium cellulose composite with different ZnO loadings was prepared for the first time. The crystal structures of cellulose, sodium cellulose, and ZnO/sodium cellulose composite were characterized by FT-IR, XRD, XPS, SEM, and EDX. ZnO/sodium cellulose showed a similar XRD pattern to that of cellulose II. The XPS spectrum emphasized the presence of Zn2+ and Na+ ions in the prepared composite. Additionally, the SEM analysis showed the growth of ZnO crystals on the sodium cellulose surface.

The effects of frozen storage of goat’s milk on the physicochemical, physical properties, and sensory attributes of goat’s milk yoghurts were evaluated. Four yoghurts were made from goat’s milk stored at 4℃ overnight, and at -6, -20, or -35℃ for 1 month. Goat’s milk yoghurts were stored at 6℃ for 21 days. Protein and lipid contents in all the yoghurts were insignificantly different, however, the total solids content, including the added sugar in the yoghurts made from frozen goat’s milk, significantly increased in comparison with that in the yoghurt made from chilling goat’s milk.

A strategy to select suitable physicochemical attributes of amino acids for protein fold recognition
Assigning a protein into one of its folds is a transitional step for discovering three dimensional protein structure, which is a challenging task in bimolecular (biological) science. The present research focuses on: 1) the development of classifiers, and 2) the development of feature extraction techniques based on syntactic and/or physicochemical properties.

Each honey is unique on the basis of chemistry, quantity and combination of the various components that attributes towards its quality. The control and characterization of quality are of great importance and interest in apiculture. Henceforth the present study analyzed the quality parameters of honeys from different bee origin and compared the results with the quality criteria laid by European Union Directive for honeys. Processing was noted to have detrimental effect on several quality parameters of honeys; in spite of which it was remarkably within the critical limits.

The Quince (Cydonia oblonga Mill.) is the only member of the genus Cydonia in the family Rosaceae. It is mostly used for culinary purposes and has great potential in processing industry. Quince genotype collections are maintained in quince block at ICARCITH, Srinagar. Physicochemical attributes play an important role in determining the nature and behavior of the fruit and their response to handling and processing. The present study was conducted during 2017-18, to evaluate ten genotypes of quince for physicochemical attributes both quantitatively and qualitatively.

Shrimp aquaculture has become an economically important one and production has decreased in recent years due to the spread of infectious diseases, mostly that caused by bacterial infection. The shrimp are affected by the toxic substances which eventually enter in to their systems and bring about external damages. This study explores, it was aimed to assessment of the physiochemical and microbiological quality of different farmed shrimp from Ratnagiri.

This research aimed at investigating the effects of extraction parameters on the extraction efficiency and chemical characteristics of Trungdu tea (Camellia sinensis O. Kuntze) seed oil, which is similar to olive oil with high portion of unsaturated fatty acids, especially essential linoleic acid and low content of saturated fat. The study parameters were particle size (0.25 - 2.00 mm), material/solvent ratio (1/12 - 1/6), temperature (25 - 55 oC), time (5 - 11 h), speed of solvent movement (0 - 250 r/m) and extraction times (1 - 3 times).

Biotic indices to monitor water quality are helpful tools for evaluating the health of rivers. Water quality analysis is mainly done using physical and chemical attributes in the DR Congo. The objectives of this study were to assess the biological water of Cirhanyobowa River using macroinvertebrate index and the relationship between physicochemical parameters and the ecological index from January to December, 2017. Eight physicochemical parameters and abundance of macroinvertebrates were obtained for 6 sites from upstream to downstream part, with different land uses.
