In this paper, a fully transparent antenna comprising of an Artificial Magnetic Conductor (AMC) backed Co-planar Waveguide (CPW) fed dual-ring monopole is presented. The monopole antenna and AMC structure achieve transparency due to the use of AgHT-8 conductive oxide and Plexiglas substrate. Measured antenna performance shows an impedance bandwidth of 5.3 – 6 GHz (12.4 %) in the U-NII-1 to U-NII-4 frequency band with a peak gain of 5.7 dBi which is approximately an increase of 4.5 % and 3.9 dBi, respectively, as compared to the stand-alone antenna.

Over the last few decades, the wireless industry has changed and grown, time and time again. This industry as a whole shifted from 1G for analog to digital phones 2G (SMS - Short Message Services and voicemail), then from 2G to 3G, 3.5G networks, which came with the mobile broadband internet connections that enabled the smartphone revolution, to 4G and 4GLTE (Long Term Evolution) which had high data rate cellular network. Future fifth-generation wireless communication networks (5G) [1, 2] will make an important difference and will add more services and benefits to the world over 4G.

A 24×24 microstrip array antenna for Doppler radar is presented. For the low side lobe, the feeding network of microstrip array antenna is used for Taylor series amplitude weighting. The side lobe of microstrip array antenna is less than -18.5 dB at 24.15GHz. The proposal design is confirmed by both simulation and measured results.

Planar inverted-F antenna (PIFA) is a most commonly used antenna especially in mobile communication because of its simplicity and low cost, though it suffers bandwidth limitations. In this paper, a study of Planar Inverted - F Antenna (PIFA) and its array is presented. The arrays two by two (2 × 2), four by two (4 × 2), four by four (4 × 4), eight by two (8 × 2) PIFA and dipole antenna array were simulated using MATLAB.

This paper will propound an antenna covering the range of frequencies from 1.53 GHz to 2.53 GHz that includes 1.575 GHz, 1.8 GHz, 1.9 GHz ,and 2.1 GHz. The developed quasi-Yagi antenna has a simple-low profile and achieves a bandwidth of 48%, a front- to- back ratio of 19 dB, a gain of 6dBi, and an efficiency of better than 78% at 2.1GHz. In this paper, the study on effects of parameters of the antenna is also investigated to achieve optimal model.

This paper proposes a novel structure of the inverted F antenna based on meandering and folding methods for the monopole antenna placed on FR4 dielectric plate. The proposed antenna has compact size (21 mm × 14 mm × 3.2 mm). Moreover, this antenna still offers enough wide bandwidth (VSWR ≤ 2), which covers 3G bandwidth. Using the simulation program to optimize antenna structure and calculate the antenna parameters in order to verify its applicability for the 3G mobile devices.

The Topic of microstrip antennas is an old subject that started over 40 years ago. Microstrip antennas are low profile and easily fabricated. This subject has passed through several stages that make it survive tell now and still in continues progress. The main stage is the development of low loss low cost dielectric materials that make it possible to design an effi‐ cient low profile microstrip patches. The stage of developing analysis methods and models that helped in the design of radiating...

An ultrawideband (UWB) pentagon shape planar microstrip slot antenna is presented that can find applications in wireless communications. Combination of the pentagon shape slot, feed line and pentagon stub are used to obtain 124% (2.65–11.30 GHz) impedance bandwidth which exceeds the UWB requirement of 110% (3.10–10.60 GHz). A ground plane of 50 mm 80 mm size is used which is similar to wireless cards for several portable wireless communication devices. The proposed antenna covers only the top 20 mm or 25% of the ground plane length, which leaves enough space for the RF circuitry.

A planar antenna with a broadband feeding structure is presented and analyzed for ultrawideband applications. The proposed antenna consists of a suspended radiator fed by an n-shape microstrip feed. Study shows that this antenna achieves an impedance bandwidth from 3.1–5.1 GHz (48%) for a reflection of coefficient and an average gain of 7.7 dBi. Stable boresight radiation patterns are achieved across the entire operating frequency band, by suppressing the high order mode resonances. This design exhibits good mechanical tolerance and manufacturability....
