The primary plant cell wall is composed of a complex network of pectin, hemicellulose and cellulose. Potential interactions between these polysaccharides were studied for carrot, tomato and strawberry, with a focus on the role of pectin.

The catalytic activity of poly(N-vinylimidazole), a biocompatible and biodegradable synthetic functional polymer, was investigated for the synthesis of oximes as an efficient, halogen-free, and reusable heterogeneous catalyst. The corresponding oximes were afforded in high to excellent yields at room temperature and in short times using the planetary ball mill technique.

The aim of this research is to investigate the influence of the sintering temperature on the properties of the in-situ carbide (Nb,Ti)C in a copper matrix synthesized via mechanical alloying and powder metallurgy from elemental powders of Cu, Nb, Ti and graphite. The mixture of starting powders with compositions corresponding to Cu-15vol.% (Nb, Ti)C was mechanical alloyed using a planetary ball mill for 20 hours.

In this paper, we have synthesized willemite (α-Zn2SiO4) by high-energy planetary ball milling technique using ZnO and SiO2 oxides as raw materials. The method is safe, instantaneous, low cost, and simple. The properties of the samples were analyzed by XRD, SEM, Raman and PL measurements.

Graphene sheets have been exfoliated from bulk graphite using high energy wet milling in two different solvents that were 2-ethylhexanol and kerosene. The milling process was performed for 60 h using a planetary ball mill. Morphological characteristics were investigated using scanning electron microscope (SEM) and transmission electron microscope (TEM). On the other hand, the structural characterization was performed using X-ray diffraction technique (XRD) and Raman spectrometry.
