This article deals with a review on how supercapacitor (SC) electrode materials get developed from bio-waste like cooked chicken bone waste (CCBW), chicken egg shells, fish gills, fishbone waste, and biodegradable and non-biodegradable marine wastes such as plastics, mangroves, chitosans, and mussel shells, which provide economic benefit for the substantiality of supercapacitor technology.

In this study, marine debris with a size ≥ 5 mm was collected at seven locations along the coastline of Nha Trang during both dry and rainy seasons, accruing a total of 4436 items. During the rainy season, most beaches had more debris than that in the dry season, and marine debris density ranged between 0.009 items/m2 to 0.418 items/m2 . Results from the beach cleanliness index (CCI) assessment showed that CCI values ranged from 0.2 to 4.4 during the dry season, with beaches classified as either very clean or clean.

In this work, a bimetallic Ni-Cu-BDC metal-organic framework system was developed via solvent thermal approach with using an organic ligand recycled from waste plastic. The physical properties of Cu-BDC and bimetallic Ni-Cu-BDC were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) and N2 isotherms adsorption-desorption (BET).

The recycled steel fibers from waste steel cables have properties suitable for enhancing the load-bearing capacity, impact resistance, and shrinkage reduction of Self-Compacting Concrete (SCC). This article presents the experimental research results on the influence of the content of recycled steel fibers on the properties of high-fly-ash SCC.

The increase in solid waste volume and change in composition due to urban development cause negative effects on the marine ecological environment. The aim of this study was to assess the amount of plastic waste leaking into the environment from the municipal solid waste (MSW) management system and propose mitigation measures towards sustainable development in Hue city, Viet Nam.

Wastes generated from healthcare practices are a serious problem for humans as well as for the environment. In this study, an attempt was made to use mixed solid medical waste (WPN) which consisted of shredded waste plastic and chopped waste needles for partial replacement of natural fine aggregate (sand) in concrete mixes at 0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, 8% and 10% by weight.

Plastic is one of the most handy materials that man has ever invented. With its cheap, durable, and convenient properties, plastic is used in almost all areas of life. Along with economic development, plastic waste is becoming a big challenge for the community and society, significantly affecting the environment, public health and marine ecosystems, including mangrove forests.

Vietnam ranks among the top four nations for single-use plastic (SUP) waste, trailing only China, Indonesia, and Philippines. The abundant rice husk (RH) by-product of rice cultivation presents an opportunity to fabricate biodegradable containers, potentially supplanting single-use disposables.

They present a scalable international solution to a global challenge; and are likely the only viable solution to the widespread lack of solid waste services and infrastructure across low- and middle-income countries. The article proposes using the environmental and wider risk posed by this pollution to target interventions to support these recyclers and benefit the environment.

Vietnam’s young plastic industry plays an important role in economic development recently. Plastic recycling (PR) is necessary to help companies economically manage their input materials and reduce the amount of solid waste disposal in its surroundings. Improper management of PR activities causes some environmental pollution problems and greenhouse gases (GHGs) released from these activities are core concerns.

Plastic waste is a serious threat to health and the environment in Vietnam today. Therefore, finding solutions to reduce plastic waste is an urgent issue. In this study, we conducted a sociological survey with 235 samples, including students, office staff, lecturers and business households in the canteen on the campus of Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment (HUNRE) about their behavior and the amount of plastic waste generated every day.

The extensive use of petroleum–based synthetic plastics is leading to various environmental problems such as ecological impact, and untreated plastic waste, particularly micro–plastic pollution. Bioplastics are, therefore, considered one of the prospective solutions to replace conventional plastics.

While the tourism and hospitality sectors in Vietnam have been rapidly developing, the increasing consumption of natural resources and production of associated waste, especially in coastal and island sites, threaten these marine areas with pollution. This study provides data on solid waste from 10 hotels in three coastal provinces of Vietnam, namely, Hai Phong, Quang Nam and Phu Yen.

This paper proposes an experiment on a customed Convolution Neural Network (CNN) based waste detector for three classes of trash: Plastic bottles, Cans, and Glass. The study used up to 900 hand-collected image data separated into 500 for analysis and 400 remains for assessing the result. All trashed objects used for generating data were collected around the Ho Chi Minh city University of Technology (HCMUT, Vietnam).

Estimates of plastic waste leaks into the ocean become essential for assessing baseline data and monitoring marine plastic litter reduction. The lack of standardised methods reliably be applied worldwide due to local conditions of the waste management system is a constraint for plastic waste management.
