A study was undertaken in Narayanpur district in Bastar plateau of Chhattisgarh state to analyze the livelihood security through tribal farm women in rice based farming system and identify different farm development activities. The participations of tribal farm women in Narayanpur district mainly from rice cultivation, horticulture and animal husbandry activities were taken for the study.

This study was conducted in two districts of Bastar plateau agro-climatic zone, which covers 28% of the total geographical area of Chhattisgarh State. Two blocks were selected from each district of Bastar plateau purposely. Three villages were selected from each block and ten respondents randomly selected from each village, total of 120. The objective of this study was to analyze the status of farm mechanization under the animal farming and identification of availability of draught animal and animal-drawn farm implements with their utilization for agricultural operations.

The Jammu and Kashmir has a varied type of climate from sub-tropical to cold arid. The main crops grown in the state are rice, maize, wheat, pulses, oil seeds, saffron etc. The cultivation of Saffron is mostly confined to the state of Jammu and Kashmir. In Kashmir saffron cultivation is peculiar and the legend about its introduction in to Kashmir shows that it is an ancient industry about 2200 years’ old. It is the legendry crop of the welldrained plateau of Pampore. The present study is an attempt to analyse the cost, return and marketing of Saffron in Jammu and Kashmir.

Efforts towards species conservation are focused on declining populations with less emphasis on dominant species. This has resulted to a once dominant species in forest ecosystem becoming endangered or at the verge of extinction. The study examined woody plants composition and stand structure of Detarium woodland to ascertain the conservation need of the species and other woody plants in Pandam wildlife Park, Plateau State, Nigeria. Four sample plots (250x10m each) were randomly established across the Daterium woodland.

Prevalence of cutaneous Leishmaniasis among HIV and non – HIV patients attending some selected hospitals in Jos, Plateau state was carried out. A total of 290 samples collected were blood samples and tissues from the upper surface of the body parts of patients attending hospitals in Kanke, Langtang North and South Local Government Area (L.G.A) of Plateau State. Microscopic analysis was done using conventional method on samples collected. Results showed that only 4(1.37%) out of 290 stained film samples examined were positive with leishmania parasite. Study was conducted to assess the phytosociological studies in opium poppy at Mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh state of India during 2016- 17. A total ten weed species were found and identified. The results obtained indicated that Chenopodium album was most densely populated. The most important weeds that were associated with the opium poppy crop in the study area are of broad-leaved weeds.

Resistance to bacterial wilt of brinjal disease incited by Ralstonia solanacearum (Smith) is very common in Bastar plateau of Chhattisgarh state. To identify the resistant sources against bacterial disease of few brinjal varieties and hybrids were screened in artificially inoculated in soil under pot culture. Observations on per cent plant mortality were recorded starting from 25 days after transplanting till 95 days interval of 10 days. The plants showing symptoms were examined using ooze test to confirm the disease.

Among the edible oilseed crops cultivated in India, mustard occupying the second position after groundnut sharing 27.5 per cent in Indian economy.
