This paper presents an inverse method for finding quantity of heat sources in high speed spindle. A commercial ANSYS software and Conjugate Gradient optimization method are used to construct the proposed inverse method. Simulations for different number of measurementpoints andlocations are performed. These results show that excellent estimation on heat generation can be obtained through using only two measurement points. The current methodology will provide a useful tool to investigate the complex heat transfer process in the high speed spindle.

In this manner, this paper shows the implementation of FOCOs using analog electronics to generate continuous-time chaotic behavior. Charef’s method is applied to approximate the fractional-order derivatives as a ratio of two polynomials in the Laplace domain. For instance, two commensurate FOCOs are the cases of study herein, for which we show their dynamical analysis by evaluating their equilibrium points and eigenvalues that are used to estimate the minimum fractional-order that guarantees their chaotic behavior.

We use a detailed growth accounting method to estimate the annual growth rate of the aggregate Vietnamese capital stock over the period 1996-2005. Our results show that the rate was likely to have been in the vicinity of 7-8 % per annum. This is approximately 2 percentage points lower than estimates appearing in some previous studies.

Performance evaluation of surface irrigation method was carried out for cotton and wheat fields in village Kirarkot (Sirsa). Water application, storage and distribution efficiency were estimated using measurements of soil moisture, infiltration characteristics, water advance and recession time during different irrigation events. Applied depth of irrigation was estimated based on infiltration opportunity time at different points in the selected border strips.

A new fast least-squares method is developed to estimate the shape factor (q-parameter) of a buried structure using normalized residual anomalies obtained from gravity data. The problem of shape factor estimation is transformed into a problem of finding a solution of a non-linear equation of the form f(q) = 0 by defining the anomaly value at the origin and at different points on the profile (N-value). Procedures are also formulated to estimate the depth (z-parameter) and the amplitude coefficient (A-parameter) of the buried structure.

To assess metabolic tumor response using 18F-FDG PET/CT scan in early stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) treated by CyberKnife radiosurgery. Materials and Methods: 30 patients were diagnosed proven by biopsy and inoperable stage I NSCLC, and were enrolled into this study. 18F-FDG PET/CT was performed prior to the program, and at three months following the radiosurgery treatment. The tumor maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax) was recorded for each time point and the PERCIST criteria was applied to assess tumor response.

A first-order differential equation was developed and proposed as a search tool in the detection and determination of rotational landslides from two epochs of light detection and ranging (LiDAR) system data in the form of 3D points. To test the proposed method two epochs of LiDAR data were used: one before and one after a rotational landslide occurred.

This study proposes to conduct uncertainty analysis of CDR for core damage assessment. First, based on source term estimation, the Monte Carlo (MC) and point-kernel integration methods were used to estimate the probability density function of the CDR under different extents of core damage in accident scenarios with late containment failure. Second, the results were verified by comparing the results of both methods.
