Correlation and path analysis for 17 traits were conducted for 22 genotypes of pointed gourd during 2016-17 at College of Horticulture, Dr. Y. S. R. Horticultural University, Venkataramannagudem, West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. The genotypic correlation coefficients were greater than the phenotypic correlation coefficient. Correlation study indicated that the number of nodes per vine, fruit length, fruit weight, pulp weight per fruit, pulp seed ratio, number of fruits per plant had significant positive association with fruit yield (t/ha) at both phenotypic and genotypic levels.

A field experiment consisting four levels of fertiliser and four levels plant densities in factorial RBD with three replications was conducted at at instructional farm of K.V.K, Ganjam-II, Berhampur, Odisha during 2017-18. Results revealed that different levels of fertiliser and plant densities significantly influenced growth and yield of pointed gourd. The results of present investigation indicated that application of 100 per cent recommended dose of NPK (F2) and medium plant density (S3) have maximum yield of pointed gourd.

Pointed gourd (Trichosanthes dioica Roxb.) is a tropical perennial cucurbitaceous vegetable crop, commonly called as „Parval‟. It has very high nutrient content as compared to other cucurbits. Protein content of pointed gourd is 10 times that of bottle gourd and 4 times that of snake gourd, ridge gourd and wax gourd. Pointed Gourd is cultivated in spring-summer and rainy season in Odisha‟s weather condition but gives higher yield in spring-summer season.

An experiment was conducted during the kharif season of 2018 to find out the impact of sprout management on growth and yield of pointed gourd. Five pruning treatments viz. , retention of one sprout , retention of two sprouts , retention of three sprouts , retention of four sprouts and control(without pruning) were done in a local cv. of pointed gourd of Biswanath Chariali, Assam under field condition. The growth and yield attributing characters were significantly influenced by pruning treatments. Retention of three sprouts resulted maximum vine length (195.47 cm and 384.
