This has increased the risk of water pollution and reduced the quality of surface water, resulting in a shortage of clean water for the daily lives of people in the province. The article has studied the application of the MIKE11-ECOLab model and correlation analysis method to assess the current situation of the wastewater receiving capacity of the central river system in Nam Dinh province. At the same time, it also analyzes and predicts the wastewater receiving capacity of the central river system in the province according to the trend of socio-economic development.

Estuary sediments contain toxic heavy metals which can pollute coastal wetlands. Ba Che river estuary is a coastal wetland with an area of 2,844 ha, which is affected by wastes in Ba Che river water and aquacultures. In this study, the accumulation of heavy metals in the Ba Che river estuary was assessed based on the enrichment factor (EF), the geo-accumulation index (Igeo), and the ecological risk index (RI).

Surfactants are one of the new pollutants of current concern worldwide. Many studies show the toxicity of surfactants to human health and microorganisms. Kim Nguu River is one of Hanoi’s wastewater drainage rivers, and the number of residents in the river area is quite dense. In addition, around the river area, there are many hospitals, factories, and industrial parks in operation.

Ebook "Atlas of the Huai river basin water environment: Digestive cancer mortality" present a spatial and longitudinal analysis of regular pollution monitoring and disease surveillance data. A review of variation in trends in the causes of death in the Huai River Basin over the past 30 years shows that precisely those areas which were the most seriously polluted for the longest time were the areas with the highest increase in digestive cancer deaths – several times that of the national average increase for the respective cancers.

The residual antibiotics in the environment have lately caused widespread concerns. However, little information is available on antibiotic pollution and its ecological risk to water resources of Saigon river. The research findings have revealed the significance and necessity of protecting the Saigon River water from contamination by antibiotics for domestic water supplies and aquaculture.

In addition to the economic successes, regional water environment has been and is being affected by increasing agricultural, industrial and daily–life wastes. Water pollution is a global problem, not just one country, or any one territory. To take specific measures to protect water resources, it is essential to assess the current state of water quality.

Gia, Re, and Da Do Rivers are the main surface water resources providing fresh water to the habitants of Hai Phong City. They are at risk of water pollution due to the release of multiple waste streams along the rivers. The main objective of this study is to establish water quality models for Gia, Re, and Da Do Rivers using the MIKE 11 Ecolab model.

Viet Nam’s coastline faces many natural and human-induced threats, such as erosion, floods, sea-level changes, pollution and saltwater intrusion. Low lying deltas, such as the Mekong Delta and the Red River Delta of Viet Nam are frequently subjected to such threats. The present study investigated the degradation of mangrove forests and changes in shoreline along the coast of Ben Tre.

Geostatistics is briefly concerned with estimation and prediction for spatially continuous phenomena, using data measured at a finite number of spatial locations to estimate values of interest at unmeasured locations. In practice, the costs of installing new observational stations to observe metropolitan water pollution sources, as DO (Dissolvent Oxygen), COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) and BOD (Biochemical oxygen Demand) concentrations are economically high.

The evolution of industrialization has been marked by an increase in the utilization of chemically derived new products. Water bodies like sea, rivers and lakes are frequently contaminated by industrial wastewater which discarded toxic pollutants such as dyes and heavy metals that possess carcinogenic mutagenic properties.

The geochemical behavior of Pb in terrestrial and coastal water systems significantly influences Pb biogeochemical cycling and pollutant exchange at the land-sea continuum. An ideal case study of Pb environmental geochemistry is Galveston Bay, an anthropogenic estuary exposed to industrial runoff, wastewater and shipping vessel spills but also fed by natural rivers.

The water quality of rivers located in areas close to major cities is deteriorating significantly due to increased pollution. The Karasu River, which passes through Erzurum city Turkey, is getting polluted day by day due to domestic and industrial wastewater. In the study, various assessments were made in three different fish species to determine the impact of possible contamination here. Capoeta capoeta, Alburnus mossulensis and Squalius cephalus were caught from four stations of the river.

The results showed that Pb was highly toxic to D. carinata and harmful to freshwater algae Scenedesmus sp. Based on the observed high sensitivity with Pb, D. carinata is a potential bioindicator for the assessment of Pb pollution in the Sai Gon River. While lead-tolerance alga Scenedesmus sp. calls for further investigation on metal uptake capacity and utilization in the Pb contaminated water treatment.
