  • In this paper, the tensile performance of 3D printed continuous fiber reinforced thermoplastic materials is investigated. Continuous carbon fiber and Polyethylene terephthalate glycol (PetG) are employed as reinforcement and matrix, respectively. Pure solid plastic infill, unidirectional fiber infill, and +45/-45 fiber infill patterns specimens are selected for printing and testing.

  • In this study, we evaluated and compared the effectiveness of four different protocols (D, MJ, MA, and S) for separating MPs from water of different types (brackish, marine, and river). Known combinations of MP particles (polyethylene (PE), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polystyrene (PS) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with size ranging between 150 μm and 700 μm were spiked into water samples. Our results showed that the average recovery effectiveness of microplastics using four studied methods ranged from 53% to 86%.

The GNS prepared at optimum voltage were mixed with polyaniline (PANI) polymer and drop casted on an indium tin oxide (ITO)/Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) substrate to study the I-V characteristics and to measure the band gap of composites.

  • The aim of this research was to design an electrochemical immunosensor for determination of tumour necrosis factor receptor-associated protein-1(TRAP1) antigen, a heat shock protein linked to tumour necrosis factor. The indium-tin oxide covered polyethylene terephthalate (ITO-PET) electrode surface was cleaned and was prepared for the introduction of hydroxyl groups on its surface by using NH4 OH/H2 O2 /H2 O. As a silanization agent for covalent attachment of anti-TRAP1 on the surface of the ITO working electrode, 3-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane (3-GOPS) was used.

  • This paper presents an investigation on the performance of ZnO nanorod (ZNR)-based piezoelectric nanogenerators (PENGs). ZNRs on the ZnO seed layer coated double-sided flexible polyethylene terephthalate (PET) at different molar concentrations (0.01, 0.05 and 0.1 M) were synthesized by controlling the aspect ratio (length/diameter) of ZNRs, that are closely related to the piezoelectric output potential voltage using a simple hydrothermal method.
