Mosquitoes are one of the organisms subjected to frequent insecticide application due to their status as vectors that carry a wide range of life-threatening diseases. Turkey has climatic and other ecological features required for the breeding and living of 50 species from 8 genera. The members of the Culex pipiens complex are the dominant mosquitoes among them. In order to design more sustainable insecticide resistance management strategies, it is important to investigate the genetic structure of mosquito populations using molecular techniques.

Meyer separated Thlaspi into 12 genera, specifically using the seed-coat anatomy. Currently, only 4 species have been retained in Thlaspi s.str and all of the other species were divided into other genera, one of which was Thlaspiceras F.K.Mey. The plant materials used in this research were collected in Turkey between 2014 and 2016. Specimens were identified according to Meyer’s identification and named according to Meyer. A total of 12 inter-simple sequence repeat (ISSR) primers, with 52 reliable polymorphic bands, were used in the cluster analyses.

Carex L. is one of the largest genera in the Cyperaceae family and an important vascular plant in the ecosystem. However, the genetic background of Carex is complex and the classification is not clear. In order to investigate the gene function annotation of Carex, RNA-sequencing analysis was performed.

The use of transferable cross-species/genera SSR markers is an alternative strategy to ensure availability of markers in genomic resources-limited crops such as dolichos bean. A total of 275 cross legume species/genera SSR markers were examined for their transferability to dolichos bean.

Targeted PCR amplicon sequencing (TAS) techniques provide a sensitive, scalable, and cost-effective way to query and identify closely related bacterial species and strains. Typically, this is accomplished by targeting housekeeping genes that provide resolution down to the family, genera, and sometimes species level.

In this study the aspartate aminotransferase (AAT, E.C. 2.6.1.1), phosphoglucomutase (PGM, E.C. 5.4.2.2) and phosphoglucose isomerase (PGI, E.C. 5.3.1.9) isozyme patterns of nine different diploid and tetraploid wild wheat species belonging to the Aegilops L. and Triticum L. genera were analysed electrophoretically, using horizontal starch gel and non-denaturating polyacrylamide gel (only for AAT).

The genus Malcolmia W.T.Aiton is taxonomically problematic, and some of its species have recently beentransferred to the genera Strigosella Boiss. and Zuvanda Dvorák. Three species of this genus are native to Turkey. The revision studies based on molecular data, which were collected in the past few years, display the phylogenetic relations and the systematic positions of the taxa more reliably and apparently.
