This study used polysaccharide (PS) from yeast cell walls to encapsulate polyphenols (PP) extracted from green tea (a good antioxidanut sbstance) to avoid the effects of sensitive factors such as temperature, light, and oxygen and to preserve its stability and bioactivities. The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of four types of wall material (PS-MD (maltodextrin), PSwhey, whey, and MD).

This study was conducted to investigate the physicochemical, phytochemical, in vitro antidiabetic and anticancer potential of Olea ferruginea R bark. After extraction using Soxhlet, in vitro antidiabetic and cytotoxic activity on human hepatocellular carcinoma (HepG2) cells was assessed by nonenzymatic glycosylation of hemoglobin assay, alpha-amylase inhibition assay, glucose uptake by yeast cells, and 3-[4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl]-2,5 diphenyl tetrazolium bromide assay, respectively, and gene expression via real-time polymerase chain reaction.

DNA fingerprinting, estimation of molecular genetic diversity, marker assisted breeding and molecular diagnostic tools are the need of the hour for sugarcane crop improvement. Efficient extraction of genomic DNA (gDNA) free from polysaccharides, polyphenols, RNA and other major contaminants is a key to all these molecular activities. We present herewith, a modified DNA extraction protocol that has been optimized for isolating gDNA from endergonic and hardy sugarcane plant and its phytopathogens and endophytic fungi.
