PPOS (Progestin-Primed Ovarian Stimulation) has shown efficacy in preventing early luteinization and improving outcomes in infertile women. However, data among those with poor ovarian response (POR) are limited. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of PPOS protocol on the chance of success throughout the IVF process in patients with POR (POSEIDON group III & IV) undergoing IVF/ICSI in Vietnam.

Soft tissue sarcomas (STS), have significant inter- and intra-tumoral heterogeneity, with poor response to standard neoadjuvant radiotherapy (RT). Achieving a favorable pathologic response (FPR≥95%) from RT is associated with improved patient outcome.

High expression of the glycosyltransferase UGT2B17 represents an independent adverse prognostic marker in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). It also constitutes a predictive marker for therapeutic response and a drug resistance mechanism.

Clear cell carcinoma of the kidney is a common urological malignancy characterized by poor patient prognosis and treatment outcomes. Modulation of vasculogenic mimicry in tumor cells alters the tumor microenvironment and the influx of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes, and the combination of its inducers and immune checkpoint inhibitors plays a synergistic role in enhancing antitumor effects.

Peripheral T-cell lymphoma (PTCL) refers to a heterogenous group of T-cell neoplasms with poor treatment responses and survival times. Canine PTCL clinically and immunophenotypically resembles the most common human subtype, PTCL-not otherwise specified (PTCL-NOS), leading to interest in this canine disease as a naturally occurring model for human PTCL.

Basement membrane (BM) is an important component of the extracellular matrix, which plays an important role in the growth and metastasis of tumor cells. However, few biomarkers based on BM have been developed for prognostic assessment and prediction of immunotherapy in bladder cancer (BLCA).

To improve the prognosis of patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC), investigating predictive biomarkers of their prognosis and chemotherapeutic responsiveness is necessary. This study aimed to analyze the clinical significance of serum proteinase-3 (PRTN3) as a predictor for prognosis and chemosensitivity, especially to bevacizumab therapy, in mCRC.

The impact of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) based treatments on non-small cell lung cancers (NSCLCs) with RET fusions remains poorly understood. Methods We screened patients with RET fusions at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University and included those who were treated with ICIs based regimens for further analysis.

This book should stimulate research that will improve the knowledge base which is focused on the long-term outcome of treatments. However, just because the scientific knowledge base is poor does not mean that we should not apply the best knowledge available to current patients.

Ebook "Plant cell culture protocols (Third edition)" is taught around the world as part of undergraduate and graduate courses in agronomical and biological sciences. However, the apparent simplicity of cell culture technology should not lead to mistakingly consider it as trivial. It would be very diffi cult to understand modern plant biotechnology without in vitro cell cultures and even today, the application of recombinant DNA technology to important crops is hampered by the poor embryogenic or morphogenetic response of in vitro cultured tissues.

This study aimed to design a nanocarrier system for the efficient delivery of poorly soluble drugs in cancer treatment. Nanogel systems were prepared from copolymers of Heparin and different Pluronics, in which the Hep-Plu conjugates were formed via disulfide bridges of cystamine molecules. The obtained Hep-Plu systems were proved and characterized using specific techniques including H-NMR, zeta potential, DLS and FT-IR.

Immune checkpoint blockade therapy can elicit robust and durable responses in a variety of cancer types. While many patients do not respond, recent reports highlight a distinct group of patients whose tumors undergo rapid growth, leading to progressive disease and poor outcome.

Tumor mutational burden (TMB; the quantity of aberrant nucleotide sequences a given tumor may harbor) has been associated with response to immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy and is gaining broad acceptance as a result. However, TMB harbors intrinsic variability across cancer types, and its assessment and interpretation are poorly standardized.

Genomic analysis of the molecular neuropathology of tuberous sclerosis using a human stem cell model
Tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is a genetic disease characterized by benign tumor growths in multiple organs and neurological symptoms induced by mTOR hyperfunction. Because the molecular pathology is highly complex and the etiology poorly understood, we employed a defined human neuronal model with a single mTOR activating mutation to dissect the disease-relevant molecular responses driving the neuropathology and suggest new targets for treatment.

Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is characterized by robust microgliosis and phenotypic changes that accompany disease pathogenesis. Accumulating evidence from genetic studies suggests the importance of phospholipase C γ 2 (PLCG2) in late-onset AD (LOAD) pathophysiology. However, the role of PLCG2 in AD is still poorly understood.

Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is a heterogeneous disease comprising histologically defned subtypes. For therapy selection, precise subtype identification and individualized prognosis are mandatory, but currently limited. Our aim was to refne subtyping and outcome prediction across main subtypes, assuming that a tumor is composed of molecular features present in distinct pathological subtypes.

Decongestion is an important primary goal in acute heart failure treatment. Loop diuretics remain a fundamental role in congestion management and symptom improvement in patients with acute heart failure. Diuretic combination contributes to achieving better diuretic efficacy. However, the optimal timing for diuretic combination in clinical practice has not been distinctly recommended in current guidelines.

The crosstalk between cancer and the tumour immune microenvironment (TIME) has attracted significant interest in the latest years because of its impact on cancer evolution and response to treatment. Despite this, cancer-specific tumour-TIME interactions and their mechanistic insights are still poorly understood.

Extranodal, natural-killer/T-cell lymphoma of nasal type is a rare but aggressive disease usually presenting as progressive necrotic lesions in the nasal cavity that responds poorly to chemotherapy. In this paper, we report a relapsing, chemorefractory case of extranodal natural-killer/T-cell lymphoma responding to checkpoint inhibitor immunotherapy with pembrolizumab.
