This work focuses on the free vibration of the functionally graded porous (FGP) sandwich microplates using the isogeometric approach (IGA). The FGP sandwich plate comprises the homogeneous core and the FG porous face sheets. The material properties of the FGP face sheets are supposed to vary through the thickness direction according to the power-law function and modified rule of a mixture of the volume fraction with three different types of porosity distribution: homogeneous porous, X porous and V porous distributions.

In the paper "Thermal buckling of P-FGM sandwich beam with porous core on elastic foundation", a coupled effect of thermal and electrical loadings on the thermal buckling behavior of functionally graded material (FGM) sandwich beam resting on Pasternak foundation is investigated. The symmetric multi-layered beam consists of a foam core, two middle FGM layers, and two outer piezoelectric layers. It is assumed that the beam is subjected to a constant voltage and a uniform/linear temperature rise.

The paper "Nonlinear axisymmetric vibration of shear deformable FG-GPLRC shallow spherical caps with porous core" presents the nonlinear axisymmetric vibration analysis of functionally graded graphene platelet reinforced composite (FG-GPLRC) shallow spherical caps with porous core under external pressure. Three distributed laws of porosity and three distributed laws of graphene platelet are considered.

This paper presents the time history response of a sandwich beam with a porous core subjected to two moving harmonic loads with opposite directions. In the modelling, the beam is combined of two isotropic face sheets and a porous core with symmetric porosity distribution. The quasi-3D shear deformation beam theory in conjunction with Hamilton’s variational principle is utilized to set up the governing equations of motion. The Navier solution is used to obtain the displacement field.

The linear buckling behavior of functionally graded cylindrical shells with porous core stiffened by spiral stiffeners under axial compression using the first-order shear deformation theory is presented in this paper. The improved Lekhnitskii’s smeared stiffeners technique is applied for shear deformable spiral FGM stiffeners.

This report presents an analytical approach to the natural frequency analysis of a porous beam consisting of a host porous layer reinforced with graphene platelets (GPLs), namely GPL-reinforced porous core, and two piezoelectric outer layers. In the modelling, symmetric distributions of both porosity and GPLs in the core are supposed.

The effective mechanical properties of the GPL-reinforced porous core are estimated by Halpin–Tsai model and the rule of mixture.

In this work, geometrically nonlinear static bending analysis of sandwich beams with a porous core and two skins made of functionally graded materials using a mesh-free method is presented. The material types of the core and face sheets of the beam are chosen so that the material continuity between the layers is guaranteed.

Enantioseparation of nineteen ß2-amino acids has been performed by liquid chromatography on chiral stationary phases based on native teicoplanin and teicoplanin aglycone covalently bonded to 2.7 μm superficially porous silica particles. Separations were carried out in unbuffered (water/methanol), buffered [aqueous triethylammonium acetate.

In this work, ratio spectra of the first derivative spectrophotometric and liquid chromatographic methods have been described for the first time for the simultaneous determination of perindopril (PER), indapamide (IND), and amlodipine (AML) in dosage forms. For chromatographic separations several mobile phase compositions were tested for efficient separation with the use of a new column technology related to superficially porous particles. Optimum chromatographic separation was achieved using a Kinetex C18 column (150 × 4.6 mm I.D. 5 µm) at a flow rate of 1.5 mL min−1 .

In this study, for the first time an isogeometric finite element formulation for bending analysis of functionally graded porous (FGP) plates reinforced by graphene platelets (GPLs) embedded in piezoelectric layers is presented. It is named as PFGP-GPLs for a short. The plates are constituted by a core layer, which contains the internal pores and GPLs dispersed in the metal matrix either uniformly or non-uniformly according to three different patterns, and two piezoelectric layers perfectly bonded on the top and bottom surfaces of host plate.

In the very high temperature reactor (VHTR), which is a next generation nuclear reactor system, ceramics are used as a fuel coating material and graphite is used as a core structural material. Even if a depressurization accident occurs and the reactor power goes up instantly, the temperature of the core will change only slowly. This is because the thermal capacity of the core is so high.

The distribution of lateral hydraulic forces within the core row is estimated based on a two-dimensional Computational Fluid Dynamics model with porous media, assuming symmetric or asymmetric core inlet and outlet flow profiles. The influence of the creep rate on the bow amplitude is tested based on different creep models for guide tubes and fuel rods. Different FA initial states are considered: fresh FAs or FAs with higher burnup, which may be initially straight or exhibit an initial bow from previous cycles.

CO2 injection has recently been shown to provide significant enhanced oil recovery from naturally fractured reservoirs 1 . Li et al. (2000) performed CO2 injection at 1750 psig on artificially-fractured cores after water flooding in a dead-oil system. Gravity drainage was suggested to be the dominant recovery mechanism in these tests, with significant tertiary oil recovery after water flooding. The authors observed that the recovery of initial oil at the start of the CO2 injection declined as the rock permeability decreased and the initial water saturation increased. Darvish et al.
