These isolates were screened, in vitro, according to their capacities to produce plant growth promoting substance i.e. IAA, phosphate, potassium solubilization, chitinase activities and hydrogen cyanide. Results indicated that 36 bacterial isolates showed IAA production, 25 HCN production, 57 chitinase activities, 39 phosphate and 105 potassium solubilizers.

Effect of potassium (K) application through leaves (LA) or roots (RA) was studied in tobacco plants grown under K deficiency and drought stress conditions. Application of K was effective in improving the shoot growth only under drought conditions, whereas root biomass and length responded under both watering regimes.

This study was aimed to compare antifungal properties of two lactobacilli strains with potassium sorbate in cheese. In this regard, the effect of 10-fold cell-free extract of Lactobacillus rhamnosus РТСС 1637 and Lactobacillus reuteri РТСС 1655 was studied on the growth of mold and yeast in the Iranian UF-Feta Cheese during a 60-day ripening period at 4 ℃.

Custard apple (Annona squamosa L.) is gaining popularity as dryland fruit crop in Maharashtra. But poor set is the limiting factor in the expansion of area under this crop. To circumvent this problem, the investigation was undertaken at Research Farm, Department of Horticulture, College of Agriculture, Dhule by using different growth regulators viz., NAA (15 ppm), GA (50 ppm), CPPU (1 and 2 ppm), Brassinosteroid (1 and 2 ppm), Potassium monohydrogen phosphate (0.5 and 1.0%), Potassium dihydrogen phosphate (0.5 and 1.0 %) and Boric acid (1 and 2 %).

The Treatments consists of 2 levels of Potassium viz. K1(40 kg K2O/ha), K1(50 kg K2O/ha) and 4 levels of Iron viz.10 and 20 kg/ha as basal and 0.1 and 0.2% as foliar application. There were 9 treatments each being replicated thrice and laid out in Randomized Block Design. The results revealed that treatment T8 (50kgs potassium + 0.2% iron) recorded maximum Dry weight, Number of cobs per plant, cob length, cob girth , cob weight without husk, cob yield without husk, Green fodder and B: C ratio.

The experiment comprising nine treatment combinations were laid out in randomized block design and replicated thrice. The treatment consisted combination of 3 levels of nitrogen viz. 75kg/ha, 60 kg/ha and 45 kg/ha, and 3 levels of potassium viz. 20 kg/ha, 30 kg/ha and 40 kg/ha along with Phosphorus at 40 kg/ha. The Yield parameters viz. Number of Heads/hill, Number of Grains/head, Grain yield, and maximum Gross return, Net return and B:C ratio were recorded with the application of 75 kg/ha Nitrogen + 40 kg/ha Phosphorus + 40 kg/ha Potassium.
