  • Polycation-sensitive membrane electrodes based on dinonylnaphthalene sulfonate (DNNS) were examined for the determination of some polyanions, namely xanthan (Xanth), alginate (Alg), carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), and carrageenan (Carr). The potentiometric titrations of polyanionic analytes yielded sharp end points and correlative stoichiometries. After the determinations were successfully performed in saline, these polyanions were also determined in some food products consumed in Bolu (Turkey).

  • Silver(I)-selective sensors were prepared from a solid-state contact polyvinyl chloride (PVC) membrane. (Z)-2-(2-((3-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-5-(p-tolyl)-1H -pyrrol-2-yl)imino)-5-(p-tolyl)-2H -pyrrol-3-yl)phenol was synthesized as an ionophore molecule and embedded in the silver(I)-selective PVC membrane composition. The sensor was also successfully applied in the analysis of real water samples. In real water samples prepared by standard addition method, recoveries in the range of 82.30%–95.15% were obtained.

Sensing materials include β-cyclodextrin (β-CD), γ-cyclodextrin (γ-CD), and 4-tertbutylcalix[8] arene as ionophores or electroactive materials have been used for construction of sensors 1, 2, and 3, respectively.

  • The current work deals with fabrication and validation of a new highly Fe3+ selective sensor based on benzo-18crown-6 (b-18C6) using the potentiometric method. The proposed sensor revealed satisfactory performance for quantitative evaluation of Fe3+ trace amount in environmental samples.

  • New rapid, sensitive and simple electrometric method was developed to determine sertraline hydrochloride (Ser-Cl) in its pure raw material and pharmaceutical formulations. Membrane sensors based on heteropolyacids as ion associating material were prepared. Silicomolybdic acid (SMA), silicotungstic acid (STA) and phosphomolybdic acid (PMA) were used. The slope and limit of detection are 50.00, 60.00 and 53.24 mV/decade and 2.51, 5.62 and 4.85 lmol L1 for Ser-ST, Ser-PM and Ser-SM membrane sensors, respectively. Linear range is 0.01–10.00 for the three sensors.
