Potentiometric titration method

The structure of the new acid and data of potentiometric titration were analyzed in detail before calculating and assigning the pKa values to suitable functional groups. These results will be applied to our further studies of this compound.

The effects of ionic strength and temperature on the dissociation constants of adefovir (PMEA) and cidofovir (HPMPC) used as antiviral drugs were studied at 298 K, 308 K, and 318 K in aqueous media and at different ionic strength backgrounds of NaCl potentiometrically. The dissociation constants of the ligands were determined via the calculation of the titration data with the SUPERQUAD computer program. The thermodynamic parameters (∆G, ∆H , and ∆S) for all species were calculated.

The combination of potentiometric methods with multivariate calibration techniques allows complex mixtures to be analyzed. In this study, a new method was developed and reported for simultaneous determination of copper(II) and zinc(II) cations in a mixture by titrimetric methods. The developed method permits simultaneous cation analysis with low detection limits, just by using a pH electrode. This work has achieved the challenging goal of developing a cost-effective and applicable method that can be applied in most laboratories due to independence of any chemical instruments.

The target of this project is to construct a general and feasible procedure to determine the acidic equilibrium constants in aqueous solution at 25oC from the data of the potentiometric titration process in a rapid, simple and effective way. Then it will be applied to estimate the equilibrium constants of some new acids.

In this study, the dissociation constant of ethylammonium and 2-furoic acid have been determined at 298.15 K using a potentiometric titration method. The ionic strength of all solutions was maintained by 0.50 M of KCl solution. A series of pH was obtained by adding the same of volume of KOH solution into analytical solutions.

Triprolidine hydrochloride (TpCl) ion-selective carbon paste electrodes were constructed using Tp-TPB/Tp-CoN and Tp-TPB/Tp-PTA as ion-exchangers. The two electrodes revealed Nernstian responses with slopes of 58.4 and 58.1 mV decade1 at 25 C in the ranges 6 • 106 – 1 • 102 and 2 • 105 –1 • 102 M for Tp-TPB/Tp-CoN and Tp-TPB/Tp-PTA, respectively. The potentials of these electrodes were independent of pH in the ranges of 2.5–7.0 and 4.5–7.0, and detection limits were 6 • 106 and 1 • 105 M for Tp-TPB/Tp-CoN and Tp-TPB/Tp-PTA, respectively.

New rapid, sensitive and simple electrometric method was developed to determine sertraline hydrochloride (Ser-Cl) in its pure raw material and pharmaceutical formulations. Membrane sensors based on heteropolyacids as ion associating material were prepared. Silicomolybdic acid (SMA), silicotungstic acid (STA) and phosphomolybdic acid (PMA) were used. The slope and limit of detection are 50.00, 60.00 and 53.24 mV/decade and 2.51, 5.62 and 4.85 lmol L1 for Ser-ST, Ser-PM and Ser-SM membrane sensors, respectively. Linear range is 0.01–10.00 for the three sensors.
