  • Many systemic and non-systemic fungicides were reported to manage the powdery mildew of capsicum. The information on the efficacy of new fungicides against powdery mildew of capsicum is insufficient. By considering the seriousness of disease and the economic damage/exorbitant losses caused by the disease, the present investigation was carried out by using integrated management approach using new molecule fungicides, botanicals and organic amendments for their efficacy to suppress powdery mildew of chilli under field condition.

  • Powdery mildew disease appeared for the first time in field-grown Dahlia (Dahlia variabilis) in Himachal Pradesh, India. With the advancement of the disease, the infected plants withered and died. In order to investigate the causal organism of this symptom disease, fungus was morphologically studied. The fungus showed conidiophore with85-118 X 6-10µm in size, composed of subcylindrical foot cell with a single constriction at the base, and 2-4 immature conidia in chains formed in basipetal succession.

  • Papaya is attacked by several diseases like, anthracnose, powdery mildew, black spot, brown spot and papaya ring spot. Among the emerging diseases in papaya, black spot disease caused by Asperisporium caricae is most lethal. Both leaves and fruit of papaya can be affected by the black leaf spot caused by Asperisporium caricae. The fruits were affected on the surface, reducing the fresh-market value. This disease can affect papaya plants at any stage of their growth. Periods of wet weather may increase the development of the disease.

  • Powdery mildew disease is becomes a serious and widespread problem in many parts of India and abroad. Powdery mildew fungi can grow superficially on leaves of host plants and at severity of infection causes morphological, anatomical and physiological damages of plants. In this connection present attempt has been made to study the diversity of powdery mildew from Phaltan area of Satara District of Maharashtra. Survey was carried during June, 2018 to April, 2019. During the study total 54 host plant species and 07 fungal genera of powdery mildew were reported.
