The results indicated the obtained ANN model can predict the condition rating of the bridge deck with an accuracy of 73.6%. If a margin error of ±1 was used, the accuracy of the proposed model reached a much higher value of 98.5%. Besides, a sensitivity analysis was conducted for individual input parameters revealed that Current Bridge Age was the most important predicting parameter of bridge deck rating. It was followed by the Design Load and Main Structure Design.

This paper presents preliminary results of actual measured and simulated performances of a first year 806.52 kWp grid connected photovoltaic power plant located at Assa, southern Morocco (28.63°N - 9.47°W). The PV system consists of 8 AICHI on-grid PV inverters, 100 kVA each and 3432 SHARP Brand 235 kWp modules. The plant is divided into two groups of 4 inverters, each inverter is supplied by a PV field consisting of 33 strings of 13 seriesconnected modules facing south at a fixed tilt of 20°.The data presented in this study were monitored during the first year of operation of the plant.

What-if models of pavement management analysis such as RTIM, HERS and HDM-4 predict the consequences of different maintenance options to be tested that are specified exogenously. Therefore, although they are often used to “optimize” maintenance options, they are not optimizing them in its true sense; they are merely used to find the best options among those tested. Since there are usually infinite numbers of options, it is impossible to exhaust all of them and only suboptimal optimizers are found.
