Maternal effect mutations in the components of the subcortical maternal complex (SCMC) of the human oocyte can cause early embryonic failure, gestational abnormalities and recurrent pregnancy loss. Enigmatically, they are also associated with DNA methylation abnormalities at imprinted genes in conceptuses.

The high incidence of aneuploidy in early human development, arising either from errors in meiosis or postzygotic mitosis, is the primary cause of pregnancy loss, miscarriage, and stillbirth following natural conception as well as in vitro fertilization (IVF).

Hereditary chromosomal 9 inversion (p22q13) 9 as a cause for recurrent pregnancy loss: A case report
Chromosomal aberrations are as common as 13.8% in the infertile population. The incidence of pericentric inversion of chromosome 9 is approximately 1–3%. However, although these inversions do not alternate phenotype, there have been conflicting data about their effect as they were correlated with infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss, and deceased children, with no clear evidence of the inversions being the causative factor for these events.

We present a case of a 40-year-old lady with 9 weeks of amenorrhea diagnosed with an interstitial pregnancy and multiple uterine fibroids. She underwent laparoscopic salpingectomy including the interstitial part of fallopian tube with products of conception without myomectomy and cornuostomy. Intra-operative blood loss was minimal.

Twin pregnancies are an economically unwanted phenomenon in dairy cattle, not only because they increase pregnancy losses, but also because antibiotics usage and culling rate of the dam are also dramatically increased due to them, furthermore animal welfare issues are also affected through them.

To evaluate the effects of early pregnancy loss on subsequent health care use and costs. Data Sources: Linked administrative health databases from Manitoba, Canada. Study Design: This was a population-based cohort study. The exposure of interest was first recorded ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage (EPM). Outcomes included visits to all ambulatory care providers, family physicians (FPs), specialists, and hospitals, as well as the costs associated with these visits.

Considering the female preponderance of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and disease onset typically after the reproductive years, pregnancy and childbirth may play a role in the aetiology of the disease. Adverse outcomes of pregnancy have been found to precede the diagnosis of auto immune diseases, including RA, but the evidence is scant and inconsistent.

After getting pregnant by in vitro fertilization (IVF), pregnancy loss is one factor that prevents the baby from being born. An estimated 80% of pregnancy loss occurs in the first trimester, which is higher than in the natural pregnancy. The reason is said to be that the age of women receiving fertility treatment is often higher, leading to ovarian reserve, and decreased oocyte quantity and quality.

Bovine Viral Diarrhea virus (BVDV) is one of important diseases of cattle worldwide causing economic losses to the cattle industry primarily due to increased premature culling and decreased reproductive performance. The virus can cross the placenta during early pregnancy and result in the birth of persistently infected (PI) calves that are efficient transmitters of BVDV and serving as the primary reservoirs for BVDV.

Evolutionary origins of derived morphologies ultimately stem from changes in protein structure, gene regulation, and gene content. A well-assembled, annotated reference genome is a central resource for pursuing these molecular phenomena underlying phenotypic evolution.

Secretion of prostaglandin F2α at the time of maternal recognition of pregnancy leads to embryonic loss. Early embryonic losses are one of the important causes of repeat breeding which increases the calving interval and leads to economic losses to farmers. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs inhibit the synthesis of PGF2α. The present study was designed to study the effect of treatment by GnRH analogue - Buserelin acetate, Progesterone (P4) and Tolfenamic acid on 32 repeat-breeding crossbred cattle aged 3-8 years.

Embryonic mortality (EM) is a major concern in the dairy industry across the world and it occurs due to loss of conceptus following fertilization until days 42-45 of pregnancy. The present study was carried out with the objective to detect EM in the crossbred cattle at the University Livestock Farm, Mannuthy, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University during the period from September 2017 to August 2019. Among the breedable animals inseminated at spontaneous oestrus, non-return animals (n=362) were selected for the study.

The main occupation in India is agriculture and livestock sector is an integral part of agriculture with a share of 25.6 per cent in its GDP. For sustained production of livestock products, animals must reproduce and produce efficiently. However, there are numerous factors that negatively affect the efficiency of animals. At present, climate change is considered as major factor affecting performance of dairy animals. Exposure of animals to excessive environmental stress causes a marked depression in milk production and reproduction and ultimately lowers the income of dairy farmers.
