  • This study proposes a threshold method in the preprocessing stage to improve human activity classification accuracy by determining the region of meaningful information (RMI) on the spectrogram. Initially, a mask function, which is created by a certain threshold value, is applied to the input spectrogram to highlight the RMI from the micro-Doppler (m-D) signatures.

  • In this paper, we propose to use Conformal Geometric Algebra (CGA) to feature extraction and reduce dimensions of the data. First, the action data is preprocessed to normalize the data. Next, use CGA to reduce dimensions of data and create feature vectors. Finally, use the LSTM for training and prediction. The experiment was conducted on the CMU dataset with 8 different actions and the results showed that the proposed method has higher results than the previous methods.

  • MAESTRO provides functions for preprocessing, alignment, quality control, expression and chromatin accessibility quantification, clustering, differential analysis, and annotation. By modeling gene regulatory potential from chromatin accessibilities at the single-cell level, MAESTRO outperforms the existing methods for integrating the cell clusters between scRNAseq and scATAC-seq.

  • RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) has become the standard means of analyzing gene and transcript expression in high-throughput. While previously sequence alignment was a time demanding step, fast alignment methods and even more so transcript counting methods which avoid mapping and quantify gene and transcript expression by evaluating whether a read is compatible with a transcript, have led to significant speed-ups in data analysis.

  • The development of the Internet has increased the need for daily online information storage. Finding the correct information that we are interested in takes a lot of time, so the use of techniques for organizing and processing text data are needed. These techniques are called text classification or text categorization. There are many methods of text classification, but for this paper we study and apply the Support Vector Machine (SVM) method and compare its effect with the Naïve Bayes probability method.

  • Remotely-sensed data for urban classification is very diverse in data type, acquisition time, and spatial resolution. Therefore, preprocessing is needed for input data, in which the spatial resolution must be changed by different resampling methods. However, data transformations during resampling have many effects on classification results. In this research, resampling methods were evaluated.
