  • Immunoglobulin A vasculitis (IgAV) primarily affects childhood and can be categorized as immune complex vasculitis. It typically presents with purpura, abdominal pain, arthritis, and nephritis. IgAV can be diagnosed without hesitation when the characteristic skin lesions appear at onset; however, in cases where the abdominal symptoms precede the skin rash or there is no purpura at all, diagnosis can be challenging.

  • Tissues are complex milieus consisting of numerous cell types. Several recent methods have attempted to enumerate cell subsets from transcriptomes. However, the available methods have used limited sources for training and give only a partial portrayal of the full cellular landscape. Here we present xCell, a novel gene signature-based method, and use it to infer 64 immune and stromal cell types.

  • In the present work, a green emitting composite with attractive photoluminescent properties was obtained through the embedding of the Tb3+ complex with N-hydroxyphthalimide in a poly-(N-vinyl-pyrrolidone) matrix, which was further processed in thin or thick films. First, several complexes of Gd3+, Tb3+, and Y3+ with N-hydroxyphthalimide with the general formula [M(NHF)3(DMF)2] were prepared at a 1:3 metal/ligand ratio. The Tb3+ complex presents specific emission peaks, with the most intense peak located at 543 nm, thus being selected for incorporation in the poly(N-vinyl-pyrrolidone) matrix.

  • Chapter 5 - Attitudes. When you finish this chapter you should understand why: It’s important for consumer researchers to understand the nature and power of attitudes, attitudes are more complex than they first appear, we form attitudes in several ways, a need to maintain consistency among all of our attitudinal components motivates us to alter one or more of them.

  • Concept recognition is an essential task in biomedical information extraction, presenting several complex and unsolved challenges. The development of such solutions is typically performed in an ad-hoc manner or using general information extraction frameworks, which are not optimized for the biomedical domain and normally require the integration of complex external libraries and/or the development of custom tools.

  • Complex industrial systems often contain various uncertainties. Hence sophisticated fuzzy optimization (metaheuristics) techniques have become commonplace; and are currently indispensable for e ective design, maintenance and operations of such systems. Unfortunately, such state-of-the-art techniques suffer several drawbacks when applied to largescale problems.

  • Identification of one or several disease causing variant(s) from the large collection of variants present in an individual is often achieved by the sequential use of heuristic filters. The recent development of whole exome sequencing enrichment designs for several non-model species created the need for a species-independent, fast and versatile analysis tool, capable of tackling a wide variety of standard and more complex inheritance models.

  • A six year old crossbred HF cow was presented to the Veterinary Clinical Complex, the history of no faecal output from the last 4 days along with anorexia. Animal was full term pregnant. Palpation of the rumen from left paralumbar fossa and per rectal revealed severely impacted rumen. Pervaginal examination revealed post-cervical right sided uterine torsion of approximately ≥180 degree. Based on the findings of clinical examination, the diagnosis of ruminal impaction and post-cervical right side uterine torsion was confirmed.

  • Order picking in conventional warehouse environments involves determining a sequence in which to visit the unique locations where each part in the order is stored, and thus is often modeled as a traveling salesman problem. With computer tracking of inventories, parts may now be stored in multiple locations, simplifying replenishment of inventory and eliminating the need to reserve space for each item. In this environment, order picking requires choosing a subset of the locations that store an item to collect the required quantity.

  • Endophytic bacteria exhibit a complex web of interactions with host plants and have been extensively studied over the last several years as prolific sources of new bioactive natural products. The present study was conducted for isolation of endophytic bacterial population of Ocimum sanctum and Aloe vera and their evaluation for enzymatic activity and plant growth promotion. Morphological characteristics of the bacterial endophytes confirmed that all the bacterial isolates were either gram positive or gram negative rods and cocci.

  • There have been a lot of debates over the relationality between spatiality and temporality in extant migration research. In terms of space, several strands of research have focused on exploring migrants’ strategies for migration and relocation, implicitly considering migration as a complete sojourn. However, migrants tend to establish and maintain transnational ties across spaces, making migration an on-going process. Others have examined how migrants sustain transnational activities and relationships over time.
