objectives: To describe the epidemiologically clinical and biological characteristics of steroid - dependent and steroid - resistant INS in children at the Hai Phong Children’s Hospital. To evaluate the efficacy of the combination of intravenous cyclophosphamide and prednisolone in treatment of steroid - dependent and steroid - resistant INS in children. To describe changes in several immune parameters before and after treatment in these patients.

To survey plasma IgA, IgG and IgM concentrations and their association with some features in pediatric patients with primary nephritic syndrome. Subjects and methods: A cross-sectional study was performed on 94 subjects, including 61 children with primary nephrotic syndrome and 33 healthy controls.

The majority of children with glomerulonephritis (GN) present with proteinuria, hematuria, hypertension, edema, reduced renal function, or the nephrotic syndrome. Post- streptococcal acute GN is familiar to the practicing pedi- atrician. Most affected children have a benign course and can be easily treated by the primary care physician on an ambulatory basis. Obviously, a nephrology consultation should be obtained on patients with oliguria, hyperkalemia, nephrotic syndrome, cardiac overload, and renal insuffi- ciency.
