To express the visions forged in the workshops to a wide range of data mining researchers and practitioners and foster active participation in the study of foundations of data mining, we edited this volume by involving extended and updated versions of selected papers presented at those workshops as well as some other relevant contributions. Rice variety ADT (R) 46 seeds have the problem of poor storage and therefore, to increase the storability of the seeds an experiment was conducted at Tamil Nadu Rice Research Institute, Aduthurai during 2016-18 by treating the seeds with different chemicals and leaf extracts. The results showed that the seeds treated with antioxidant, α - tocopherol (Vitamin - E) @ 1 % for 18 h and stored in polylined gunny bag have recorded the higher germination (95 %) and seedling vigour upto six months compared to control.

The study derives the closed-form solution of the valuation of deposit insurance under forbearance for banks whose capital requirements are either solely based on the 1988 Basel Accord (BA) approach or the VaR-based approach. The study also demonstrates that the deposit insurance liability under BA rises monotonically with portfolio risk, but it is much less risk-sensitive under VaR. It implies that the VaR-based capital regulation is more stable in containing deposit insurance losses and failure probability than the BA capital regulation.

The administration of medications is central to anaesthetists’ care of patients. Errors are inevitable in any human endeavour, but should be distinguished from violations. The incidence of medication errors in anaesthesia has been estimated as 1 per 13 000 administrations, excluding errors in recording. Adverse medication events follow a proportion of these errors. Labelling is a key element of medication safety. There is a long-standing need for improvements in the labelling of ampoules and vials. An international standard exists for labelling syringes used during anaesthesia (ISO 26825).

They find their place is as sub-therapeutic, prophylactic, metaphylactic and therapeutic agents for use in livestock sector. However, the possibility for transfer of antibiotics resistance genes among livestock through food chain and environment is probably a direct threat to public health. This study proposes to conduct uncertainty analysis of CDR for core damage assessment. First, based on source term estimation, the Monte Carlo (MC) and point-kernel integration methods were used to estimate the probability density function of the CDR under different extents of core damage in accident scenarios with late containment failure. This paper deals with an economic order quantity model where demand is stock dependent. Items received are not of perfect quality and each lot received contains percentage defective imperfect quality items, which follow a probability distribution. Two cases are considered. 1) Imperfect quality items are held in stock and sold in a single batch after a 100 percent screening process. 2) A hundred percent screening process is performed but the imperfect quality items are sold as soon as they are detected. Approximate optimal solutions are derived in both cases.
